Hair reassignment surgery
After 8 months of dyeing my hair (and the bathroom) bright and cheery shades of pink/red/purple/lilac/green I went back to brown today.
It was along the lines of a test really: I kept telling myself I could kick the addiction to colour any time I wanted, no problem. The box of brown dye has been taunting me from the bathroom window-ledge for a while.
Tonight, apropos of nothing in particular, I smothered my hair in it.
I now have dark chocolate-brown hair (with a lilac tinge - there are apparently some things dark brown doesn't cover!).
Yes it matches my dark-brown eyes, yes it complements my pale English skin, yes it's probably somewhere near my natural colour (haven't seen that for about 15 years..), but no, it's not me.
It's worth knowing: I should have been born with purple hair, it's not my fault the deity had run out of purple..
