“I can’t imagine you looking different. You always look… the same. You undercover…”
“Just because unlike you I have to do more than change from my SOLDIER uniform to nearly identical, worn-out black street clothes.”
“And sunglasses!”
“And sunglasses. Oh, then no one will ever recognize the general and his second-in-command.”
“Spike’s gonna be here soon and wondering why you’re taking longer to get ready than his teenage sister.”
“Strife has a sister?”
“No, I’m just saying.”
“You’re saying, but I am unsure what you are meaning.”
“I’m saying that even Aeris doesn’t take this long to get ready.”
“Yes, and you might note that she does not travel in disguise nor is her appearance immediately recognizable by every resident of Midgar.”
There was a knock on the door quiet enough that no one but a SOLDIER could have heard.
“See, Cloud’s already here.”
Sephiroth didn’t bother answering.
Zack let in a Cloud in civvies that looked worn from time gathering dust, not wear.
“We’re both ready to go, but someone’s taking all day.”
Sephiroth, as usual, didn’t bother to reply, but the bathroom lock clicked open.
What emerged was a very tall, strong, female SOLDIER. She wore civvies in pink, a shirt with a very high neck stretched over her fairly ample bosom. Her long chestnut brown ponytail was interwoven with ribbons and hair ornaments Zack also recognized as Aeris’ and had a few strands falling over mirrored sunglasses. The fawn-colored half-pants, half-skirt was loose, unlike Sephiroth’s normal leather pants.
“Woo baby.” Zack loved Aeris to death, but not even she had looked that good in those pants.
“Let’s go.”
