“Extreme,” Nagare said dryly.
“You go girl!”
Nagare would have shot Nanami a glance, but that would have involved looking away from Mara and her magnetism was too much for that.
“My beauty is just overwhelming.” Mara flicked an artful curl of hair and batted her heavily made-up eyelashes.
“It is the point,” Yui admitted.
Nanami nodded. “No one will notice anyone else and that is the idea.”
“It’s still a bit… impractical.” Nagare couldn’t put into words the adjective she wanted to use.
“It’s perfectly practical. I have my transformation wand in my belt. The heels kick off, the trail detaches. Some of the hair combs are lock picks; most are stilettos sharper than Mom’s good knives.”
“People are going to be flirting, so don’t be too na… sharp to them.”
“I can handle a crowd. And I’ll put up with it. Even if none of them are nearly as beautiful as I am.” Because it was Mara, she meant it. At least she was almost as attractive as she thought she was (no one could be as beautiful as Mara thought of herself).
“We’re all great marriage options. We’re the daughters of the Senshi of the Inner Solar System.” Nagare ticked off her fingers. “Taken, lesbian narcissist, lesbian and taken. Guess it’s just you and me, Nanami-chan.”
“I’m not entirely opposed to men,” Mara hrmped. “I’ve just never seen one beautiful enough.”
And Nagare could have sworn there were sparkles when she smiled and posed. It had to be a trick of the light and the glitter. “Do that again and they’ll never notice Chibiusa-chan isn’t there till we’re all long gone.”
