Ah life...

Wow, it's been a really long time since the last time I posted. I even missed my birthday!

So I've been in Kansas for eight months now. It really has become home. I love my job and the people I work with. We all get along really well and even hang out outside of work once in a while. One of my coworkers actually got married recently and she's been able to help me get ideas for my wedding.

Speaking of my wedding, it did not happen on November 12 like we originally planned. We just could not afford it by then. So we're still "living in sin" out here in Emporia, and will be until May 5, 2012. What's better than a Cinco de Mayo wedding?! So we've been budgeting out a certain amount each paycheck to put toward the wedding and we'll be using out tax return for the honeymoon. We're looking at the Caribbean area for a cruise or all-inclusive. It'll be so nice to have a week all to ourselves with no jobs or family, just us and relaxation.

We've also really found a home in our church that we found. With Matt coming from Catholicism and me coming from an extreme Protestant denomination, we compromised and went Lutheran. We both really love it there. He likes it for the similarities and I like it for the choir and traditional feel. The people are wonderful and so loving. They are even going to throw me a wedding shower! Which means we need to get registering for gifts.

I miss my Illinois peeps often. I miss swing dancing, I miss seeing my family every Sunday, I miss my Bible Study ladies, I miss visiting my college, I miss the variety of food and shops that Rockford offered within a short drive, I miss my mom, I miss my nephews and nieces, and I miss knowing all the family happenings. I'm way out of the loop on some family matters.

But despite everything I miss, I know I'm supposed to be here. This is where I belong. This is where I'm more happy than I've ever been and where I feel accepted no matter what. My future here is going to be fantastic!
