I've got a few pop culture things to rant about...
Kick Ass
It was good, but sometimes didn't make sense and usually when you watch comic book movies you have to suspend all disbelief because they're SUPPOSED to be exaggerated and weird. Well I hate that excuse now! After movies like Sin City or Watchmen, it's kind of tiring to always make excuses for shitty movies all because I apparently don't "get" the genre.
The movie reminded me of Superbad too much, with the whole nerd kid getting the girl and yayyyy they get to make out with them now!!!! I get why loser high school kids need that fantasy, but I'm out. Especially after watching Hot Tub Time Machine, I'm pretty angry at Clark Duke and his fivehead and that ditzy stock girlfriend who will have an illustrious career in -- I can't even joke about her future work. I just don't want to think about it.
Glee
I like the show, but this week was pretty weak (I guess mostly because I don't recognize the songs). Last week's Madonna episode was fun, but it was unnecessary to have it playing all the time on the "school PA system". And I wasn't totally into the whole direction they took with sex in that ep - they started off with "empowerment means having sex!" to "it's weird" and I really didn't think it meshed well at all. But then again everyone knows that Glee sucks at proper plotlines.
ONTD
I've kind of lost interest! Isn't that weird?! I thought this day would never come. I would be aware of every post - I didn't read every post, but when I skimmed the site I always knew where I read last and kept reading until I got to that point. I guess I just don't care anymore. But I do miss it sometimes and just wish all the good stuff was sent to me, because there are some pretty good viral vids or pics I don't see anywhere else. Ah well.
Parks and Recreation
Still love it. Every bit! I'm not even frustrated about the whole April and Andy storyline; I am patient and I will let the writers take their time with it. I kind of wish there was more to Ann and Mark, but they're both pretty boring so I guess it's hard to make it interesting. I hope Rob Lowe and Adam Scott don't fuck things up!
30 Rock is lacking these days but as long as I have P&R I'm fine. I don't want to be too emotionally invested in too much.
