Ah, yes, after a month I finally have all my clothes unpacked and put away. On saturday we were finally able to get my dad to help move the desk and the filing cabinets out of my room.
First we had to take all the drawers out of the desk, 'cause that thing is far too heavy with them in. Then we had to disconect all the computer components. My dad has a desktop with every single accessory you could think of, so that in and of itself took some time. Then we had to clear off the desk itself. I get my neatness (or, rather, lack thereof) from my dad. Any of you ever seen my desk, my room, or my car? My dad's desk looked like that. So, everything disconnected, cleaned off, and emptied, we moved the desk into my parents' room - into a smaller space. Then we had to contend with the file cabinets. My dad had 3 of them in thhe closet. So we then had to take all the drawers out of the tall file cabinets, consolidate/weed out/throw out two file cabinets worth of stuff so it'd all fit into one and drag the other 2 down the stairs and into the garage. My parents' room is now a horrible mess.
So things were looking peachy and I could finally start hanging stuff in the closet. Oh, that was fun, because the whole shelf/rod system decides to pull out of the wall. So yesterday night my dad and I spent a couple hours with drills and electric screwdrivers reinstalling the damn thing. That's finally done and the closet is doing well and I finally have all my stuff out of Katrina's room. The problem now is that I still have a lot of boxes in here that need to be unpacked and I don't have space for all of it. I can get another bookshelf or another stacking drawer thingie fairly easily, the problem now is more that I'm limited by the size of the room. After having measured the closet, I'm guessing the room is about 10 feet by ten feet. This is pretty small. I'm trying to figure out if it is smaller than the side room in Hunter I was in freshman year.
I have wires running all over thhe place and need to get them sorted out and consolidated and tied up. I also need at least one more really bright lamp - there is no overhead light in this room. There's actually bad lighting in most of the house - it is rather poorly designed.
Well, waily-waily-waily about the room aside, things continue rather on the same pace they have been. I'm still waiting to hear back about several jobs. I'm really bored and wanna get out and do stuff, but i kinda need to have my schedule solidified before i do something like sign up for a dance class or audition for a play. And to do the former, I need to have money coming in anyway.
On sunday we went up to sewanee for graduation, and I saw a bunch of people, which is good, 'cause I miss everyone.
Katrina gets back into town very early tomorrow morning (or, I guess, this morning now). She drove out to Utah with Tony to help him move into his summer job out there. We've actually had pleasant conversations lately, so there's hope that we won't kill each other in the next three months.
