I'm bribing myself with Batman to get through Nano. Today's ep is On Leather Wings.
My thoughts are as Follows:
Police in Gotham are dim. And why do they have a zepplin?
Harvey Dent, chilling with Commishoner Gordon and idly flipping that coin throughout the conversation is foreshadowing win.
Alfred is snarky win.
Bruce's total lack of interest in 'Bambi' is the kind of slash fodder that warped my young and impressionable mind. Ah, Nostalgia.
Detective Bullock might be why I don't trust cops. 'A shadowy figure in an alley? THROW BULLETS AT IT!'
It seemed perfectly reasonable at the time, but watching this as an adult I have to wonder- WTF is up with the cars? The big SWAT van especially. Why do they look like giant Altoid tins?
Why is SWAT wearing old school rugby gear? Shouldn't they have, like, bullet proof vests? Granted, Batmen =/= guns, but still.
WTH tear gas bomb?
Watching Batman talk in Brucie's voice is deeply wrong in a way I cannot adequtely explain.
Protip: Swigging chemicals will not turn you into a genetic hybrid between man and... anything. Generally, it will make you dead.
I admit- When Batman's face hit the windshield, I giggled. SPLAT
Protip: If you are riding a flying monster you are trying to bring to justice, punching it in the head isn't a good idea. But it's still a better idea than covering its eyes so that you both slam into a building.
In Batman's place, I would not have been able to resist the urge to flip Bullock the bird. Would not happen.
