Beautiful, really. And encapsulates a good portion of what the Amy storyline is really about. Sam wants and needs Dean to trust him, and he doesn't. They have to work this out for their survival. I had no problem with Sam stalking off angry, really. It made sense that his whole reality is built on trusting Dean and trusting that Dean trusts him and it just got blown to smithereens. He's not exactly going to just be "Okay. Thanks for killing her when I couldn't, bro."

Exactly! It seems like the people annoyed with Sam's reaction are basing it solely on the fact that Dean killed Amy, not what that action really means. This is a much deeper issue for Sam and his sanity than one monster dying, which is why his anger makes so much sense.

Thanks for reading, sweetie!

What I like about this storyline is that it revealed a long standing fissure---that ties in beautifully with the current storyline---that both brothers have a hard time trusting each other and just when one DOES trust, the other does something that shakes it a bit and creates havoc.

I also think it's interesting that you mentioned his running in this. I got the sense from Levia!Sam that he was pulling on Soulless Sam memories and I think that's what Sam's been using, too, to keep his head on straight some. He has been driven to hunt pretty much nonstop here and I think it's another thing keeping ol' Luci away. Maybe we'll see him struggle through his coming MOTW ep (which doesn't bother me, really) or maybe they'll wait for a mytharc ep again to show the complete fall out, but I think it's good to see the boys have to face things they've ignored more or less since season 3's end.

I have this hope that next episode is going to start with Sam trying to work the job himself (because, as former psychic himself, he gets drawn into this one) but ends up needing some backup, which is when Dean jumps in because he never actually left and leads to some hashing out of issues.

And then, of course, that's totally not what's going to happen and I will be a sad panda =P

There's a lot of setup in place for these guys to work through these long-standing issues, and with an enemy like the leviathans they absolutely must, so I really hope we get some payoff.

I agree. This makes perfect sense.

I did wonder if we'd get the "Sam's leaving Dean - again" outcry from the 'extremes.' Doesn't surprise me, but that's why I dont go there anymore. I look for good fic that helps me fill in the blanks!

Thanks!

I get why people don't like Sam storming off in the end--we hate seeing the brothers separated, of course--but just because it's a downer doesn't make it bad or illogical. Sam's struggling with a lot and anything that tips him off-balance like this could really be catastrophic for his state of mind.

So glad you liked!

Awesome. Brutal, but it rings true. Poor Sam.

I agree. Poor guy is trying so hard to just keep on keepin' on, only to have the rug that was keeping him standing pulled out from under his feet. Breaks my heart.

Thanks for the comment!

I like what you did with this. It's a good peek into Sammy's head. I bet being rattled by the truth would set Lu free!

According to levia!Sam, Sam's still seeing Lucifer all the time, so we can only assume he's just figured out how to tamp down on everything going on in there--but learning about this? When Dean is supposed to be the foundation he's rebuilding himself on? I have a feeling Sam's going to crack again and it won't be pretty.
