Family history
I've decided that I'd like to talk to nanny about our family history, her memories etc. She is my only surviving grandparent, and while I've heard quite a few of her stories, I want to be able to record them for all her great grandchildren.
The lovely ducklingsmith has agreed to help me with the transcription, he being an audio typing demon.
I'd like your help. Have any of you interviewed relatives, or listened/read the end results? Any tips on how to go about it, good questions to ask etc?
I'm planning on doing the recording onto crocodilewings laptop, probably using Audacity. I have access to stage quality mics (dad being a theatre techy), but I also need a whatever-size-jack to 35mm jack convertor, any idea what they are called? Also any technical tips?
