Today at lunch I met a Civil Rights activist. He claimed to be an Human Rights activist, but he did not believe in gay marriages. He claimed not to be a hypocrite, and claimed to be sensitive to the strife of other minority groups, but he could not see past his own well-rehearsed ideals. There's a lot of people like him.

I personally believe in self-responsibility. Have since before I knew what it was called. Basically, it's the belief that you can do whatever you want (within the confines of the law) and nobody and keep you from doing that, if you push yourself...BUT if you're like that guy and believe that "THE MAN" is keeping you down, and therefore you'll never advance in life, it just becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy.

people like him who share the same opinion will never change their minds. it makes no sense to me how one person can decide personal decisions for me and it's not right. its america.

i was refering to the vote that decided who should get married and who shouldnt. it was most of america,not just one person.
