Wow what a day! First day of my internship and really it did not go too bad, it is just allot to take in. The beginning of the day I was put into a room with 3 management trainees (I just found out that even though I am going through the same training etc, I am an "intern" because I have not yet graduated) Anywho we did the typical new hire stuff, watch videos, go through a power point presentation and fill out lots of paperwork. Around noon we went out to lunch with the HR/training executive to Buzzs steakhouse where Dr. Choys advice finally came in handy. I tried to remember all the dos and donts in a business lunch and not to be cocky but I think I handled myself very well. he he Dr. Choys lectures really do stick, imagine that!
The second half of the day I spent at the branch that I will be working at. I was told that I should spend the day observing the business operations and that just about killed me not doing anything productive. Later during my shift they had me drive customers to different places and drive various cars to different Enterprise branches around Honolulu. Overall my 8-6:30 training was not too bad, the only thing that really bothers me is the fact that I have an assistant manager that likes to look at my chest more than he likes looking at my face. I have not quite figured him out yet to say for sure if he is a slight pervert or if that his way to look away when he gets uncomfortable. He seems like he might have a bit of social anxiety, which I completely understand so I need to just keep my cool until I get to know him better. Honestly though I am getting sick of guys checking out the boobages, I mean the least they could do is not be so blunt about it.
So yeah talking about guys checking out the girls, I got a strange email today from my old professor Dr. Herman. I had sent out a mass email two days ago to various faculty advisors and staff at UHWO regarding the completion of my pamphlet and Dr. Herman emailed me back to tell me that I did a good job on it and to offer me a job position as his research/admin assistant. Its ironic only because I had seen the job listing and automatically thought that it would be awesome to take even a small part in his documentary that he is doing. After a few days of thinking it over in my head though I knew that I would be insane to try and take on 3 part time jobs while also going to school, but now that the offer has been made to me directly I am thinking about it again. Its just kind of creepy because he gave me his cell and phone number and asked me to call him, I dont know but that sends out some weird vibes. Well I will just have to see, it would be another awesome accomplishment though to add to a resume and to be honest I am not to sure if an opportunity like this one will ever come by again.
