Milk drought continues for 3 weeks now!
I am pumping many times a day & getting about 1/4 oz TOTAL per day.
Today was a HUGE day ...I made an OUNCE!!
Here's what I am doing .....
1. more water
2.more pumping
3.longer pumping
4.more fenugreek
5.oatmeal daily
6. changed the membrane on my medela pump & cleaned it extra well
(has anyone needed to replace the cords?? I may try that too!)
7. posting on CC
8.joined two bfing groups here on LJ
next up ...
speak to my LC & look into an RX
After this weekend I am out of EBM!! Things are not improving! I really DO NOT want to use formula but I do not want to starve my baby either!
I am also my worst enemy here. I am stressing & that may be making it worse. If I must resort to formula I will feel like I have failed my Lyndsey! I have some issues w/ this b/c she was early and it was hard not to think that I failed at keeping her safe for 9 full mos. Then after her birth she was taken away to NCIU (yes it was best for her) but I missed that holding your baby & seeing her & initial bonding & that is a regret that lives heavy on my heart! Then b/c she was only 3 lbs our bf/bonding didn't start right away . I want to give her all I can including bm for atleast a year.
any more advice or help would be appreciated!!
Did anyone slump this bad & recover to continue nursing???
TIA!!!
