Nick's last questionnaires:

Questionnaire #33 -- Money
Are you poor, rich, or in between? In between. I make decent money as a coach; I made good money as a player. I live cheap. It works for me.

Growing up were you poor, rich or in between? Firmly middle class.

Is money important to you? Only in as much as it allows me to do what I want to do.

How do you acquire money? I am the defensive line coach for a college team.

What is your most valuable possession? My explorer

What is your most valued possession? The coin from the BCS game I was in.

Questionnaire #34 - Work, rest and play
Do you nap frequently? Where is your favourite place to do so? Describe frequently. **um, daily** then no. I do nap in my office a couple of times a week. I have a couch - probably not supposed to, but I do.

Are you lazy, or active? Somewhere in between? Extremely active. I love to do physical stuff - as much as my ankle will let me.

What time do you do your best work? In the early morning. Practice is in the afternoons during the season; conditioning during the off-season, also afternoons. So if I'm going to get any planning done, I do it in the morning. We spend about two hours reviewing practice after it's over. I go home and go to bed - oh, yeah, and I eat.

Would you rather work, play, or relax? Work. Though I'm definitely gaining some appreciation for both playing and relaxing.

What is your favourite way to relax? I like to do a long session at the gym followed by the steam room. I work out a lot of tension and aggression that way.

What is your favourite play activity? My horizons are broadening, I suppose. I enjoy going out to play with Jezzie. She's a lot of dog, can catch a football, and doesn't freak out over a gentle tackle.

Questionnaire #35 -- Random (2)
Have you ever touched a dolphin? No. Might like to someday though.

Do you like the feeling of silk? Yes. Very much.

What's your favourite fruit? I like strawberries. Especially strawberry shortcake.

What's your favourite movie? (Favourite story/tale if you live in a world where there are no movies) Brian's Song

What is your favourite type of storm (ie, hurricane, thunderstorm, etc)? Thunderstorm

Have you ever been so tired you fell asleep sitting or standing? What circumstances led to this? We won a bowl game last year. None of the coaching staff got to sleep the night before - last minute strategy session; patrolling the halls making sure the boys were where they were supposed to be; that sort of thing. The game is over, we're all hanging around watching the press conference - I was leaning against the wall. Next thing I know, George is elbowing me because I fell asleep. Apparently, I was snoring, otherwise he would have left me alone.

Questionnaire #36 -- Favourites, The Senses
What is your favourite sound? A referee saying "Touchdown"

What is your favourite thing to touch? My Momma made this quilt - it's called a crazy quilt, and unlike a normal quilt it has a lot of different types of fabric - there are satin, velvet, and silk pieces - when I really miss home, I'll sit and hold it.

What is your favourite smell? Fresh coffee brewing.

What is your favourite taste? Strawberries. They just sort of explode on the tongue and they taste *so good*.

What is your favourite sight? The painting my niece did for me. Although a perfectly executed play also does something for me.

Which of your senses is your favourite? Sight.

Questionnaire #37 -- eating and drinking
Can you cook? Minimally. I can macaroni and I can make hamburgers. I can follow Momma's directions and make meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Really, that's all I need to be able to do.

What kind of food do you normally eat? I suppose you'd call it junk food. Hamburgers. French fries. That sort of thing.

What food is a special treat (like for a birthday)? A good steak. I can grill, but I live in an apartment, grilling is out.

Do you drink alcohol? A beer or two sometimes. Nothing harder. Quinn's got me drinking wine sometimes.

Have you ever been drunk? Relate the most memorable time. Yeah. When I turned 21, the rest of the team took me out and we got seriously, seriously drunk. I had fun. I also had a hell of a hangover the next day. It was no fun practicing the next day - let me tell you.

What is your cure for a hangover? I drink a lot of water. A ton of water.

Questionnaire #38 -- time
Do you wear a watch? Describe it. Yes. I have Timex Ironman that I wear constantly. I also wear a stopwatch around my neck during practice.

Are you usually early, late or just on time? Early. I have to be early - don't want the guys (my players) to get the drop on me.

Where do you lose time? Bookstores? Computers? Talking on the phone? On the practice field. In the weight room. Those sorts of places.

What is your favourite time of day? Morning and evening. Morning because I get to work and evening, these days, because I usually call Quinn to see what he and Jezzie have been up to all day.

What one thing do you spend most of your time on besides sleep? Football and the preparations for it.

If you could travel through time, 'when' would you go to? I'd go back to when they played football in leather helmets. The game was cleaner and safer then.

Questionnaire #39 -- Crime and Punishment
Have you ever witnessed a crime? No.

Have you ever commited a crime? No.

Have you ever been wrongly accused of a crime? Yes. I'm black; I lived in Alabama - what do you think the odds are that at some point I was accused of something. At the very least - driving while black.

Have you ever been arrested? Yes. Robbery and auto theft. In both cases I was cleared before charges were actually filed.

Have you ever been to jail/received punishment? I spent a couple of hours waiting for my Dad to clear up the mess - in a holding cell - but I've never been inside an actual prison nor have I ever been convicted of any crime.

What's the worst thing you've ever "gotten away with"? We t-p'd a coach's house once.

Questionnaire #40
What are you allergic to? Nothing.

Do you eat fish? Yes.

Who is your oldest friend? My brother Mitchell. We've been best buds since the day I was born.

What makes the best pet? Fish. Low maintenance.

What is the grossest thing you've ever done? I don't want to answer this one.

Here is a needle, a tube of toothpaste, a deck of cards and some string. Make something. What did you make? I'd call Quinn and let him make something.

Questionnaire #41 -- Are you? (take two)
Funny? Not really.

Good? Sometimes.

Studly? Eh, not really.

Happy? Yes.

Stupid? Absolutely not.

Vain? No.

Questionnaire #42 - Change

Name one thing about your physical appearance would you change. I would heal my ankle so that I don't limp anymore.

Name one thing about your mate's physical appearance would you change. Not one thing. He'd probably like to be taller, but I don't think he needs to be.

Name one thing about your life would you change. I would like to be able to play football again.

Name one thing about your mate's life would you change. I would make him less isolated. He can get awfully lonely sometimes.

Name one thing you did that made negative changes in your life. Would you do it again? I dove to make that play, ended up on the bottom of the pile with a broken ankle. I got the ball and we won the game. I was a hero. I think I would do it again.

Name one thing you did that made positive changes in your life. Not walking away when Quinn said he wasn't interested in a one night stand or a fling.
