Mmkay this is me book and well yeah I guess you have to read it to understand it(there is not punctuation whatsoever in this book and there are probably a lot of typos so uhm yeah sorry or something)
It was a bright November morning and Andrea had just awoken from a wonderful sleep. She followed her morning routine that she knew all too well. She made her bed brushed her teeth took a shower and dressed. She was soon finished and made her way into the sunny kitchen where her parents awaited , “Good morning” they chorused “Good morning” she replied. As she took her seat at the table her mother asked her wether or not she would like waffles or cereal “neither” replied Andrea when her mother looked at her with an astonished expression on her face Andrea quickly explained that she was on a diet her mother made a face and protested “But you’re already so thin” Andrea turned to her with a mournful look on her face and whined “Oh, mother I am not thin I’m positively huge!”. Her mother made and said “Well what do u propose to eat then” Andrea answered with “I’ll just gave some juice” her mother was beside herself and gave a pleading look towards her husband Andrea’s father spoke up and said “Andrea please don’t worry your mother try and eat something” Andrea gave them both an annoyed look and said “fine if you two insist that I eat something then I suppose I’ll have a piece of toast”. Her mother gave her a satisfied look and prepared two slices of toast Andrea ate the toast looked at her parents and said “happy now?” her parents nodded and said “yes” as soon as Andrea was done she asked to be allowed to go to her friend Sandy’s house her mother nodded and after giving both her parents a hug she skipped gaily out the house.
Once out of the house Andrea walked down the street to Sandy’s house she knocked on the door twice and Sandy soon appeared. ”Hello” Sandy said “hi” replied Andrea the two girls walked into the warm house and up the winding stairs into Sandy’s room once there Andrea seated herself comfortable onto Sandy’s bed and sandy sat in her directors chair Andrea and sandy began to talk “have you talked to Laura” Sandy asked “not lately I think she’s been busy with her new job” replied Andrea. And awkward silence followed after Sandy looked up “hey! I know we could go to the mall” Sandy said Andrea smiled “that’d be great, I could use some new clothes” sandy asked if she had any money with her “yeah I do I brought my credit cards along” a few minutes later the girls were in Sandy’s car and driving down the highway “lets turn on some music” Sandy turned to their favorite station and pretty soon the girls were singing along to one of their favorite songs “It’s such a beautiful day” Andrea said Sandy nodded her agreement in a little while the girls turned off the highway and onto the main road leading to the mall pretty soon they were searching for a parking place and after they found one the hopped out of the car and walked into the mall entrance once inside the mall both girls looked at each other and said in unison “Claires” they giggled and walked into a nearby store once inside they began to browse within a couple of minutes they had both decided to buy new necklace that “they just had to have” once they had both paid for their purchases Sandy said “you pick the next store” Andrea wrinkled her brow and finally decided on penny’s once at the store Andrea began to look around she found a pair of jeans she positively loved she went into the changing room to try then and came out with a mournful look on her face once Sandy saw her face she exclaimed “what’s wrong?!” “they don’t fit” Andrea sadly replied “they don’t fit?” questioned Sandy “no they don’t fit” replied Andrea “are you sure?” Sandy looked at Andrea “yes I’m sure” “wow” said Sandy “that’s amazing considering your like the smallest person in 11th grade” “oh, Sandy” whined Andrea “you sound just like my mother why cant you both see that I’m huge” Sandy turned a shocked look towards Andrea “Ann” she exclaimed “you are so not huge and wherever did you get an idea like that?” “Sandy don’t tell me I’m the only one that sees how big I am I am not small and I never have been” Ann you have always been small and I don’t think that’ll ever change” “lets just drop the subject I’m starting to get a headache” said Andrea “ok that’s fine” the girls picked up their bags and began to look around the store some more once they finished with penny’s Sandy began to speak “well it’s almost lunch time and I’m not sure about you but I’m starving” Andrea grudgingly agreed the girls decided to go to the food court and decide on where they should eat “I don’t know about you but I’m in the mood for burgers and fries” Andrea made a face “do you have any idea how much fat is in one burger” “no” replied Sandy with a worried look “ but I don’t really think I’d want to know lets just get our food and find some tables” Andrea agreed the girls stepped into a line and when they got to the front Andrea was shocked to see her best guy friend Roger “Roge” shouted Andrea “what in the world are you doing here?” Roger looked a little embarrassed “I umm I just started working here” he mumbled “what would you girls like today” he quickly asked noticing his boss was standing a few feet away from him staring “ummm I’ll take a large fri a large coke and a burger with everything on it” roger looked at sandy with a faintly amused expression on his face “that all” he asked sarcastically Sandy gave him an annoyed look roger then looked at Sandy “and what would you like” he asked looking directly into Andrea’s eyes “ I’ll just have a coke” Roger looked questionly at Andrea “I’m on a diet” she quickly explained Roger then looked at Sandy, Sandy shrugged Roger gave Andrea a concerned look and he went to the back to get their orders once they sat down to eat Sandy asked Andrea if she was sure she didn’t want something more to eat “no” replied Andrea she drank her coke after Sandy finished eating they got up to empty their trash and walked back over to where roger was serving a mother and her children they waited until business slowed down a bit then they talked to Roger “what time do you get off work?” Sandy wanted to know “I’m a couple of hours why” “oh I don’t know I was thinking maybe we could catch a movie then go out to eat” “that’d be great just let me finish up here then I’ll change back into my regular clothes” while the three of them made planes to meet outside of the mall entrance in exactly three hours a small line formed “ROGER” shouted his boss “get back to work” “gotta go” roger told the girls see you later” “ later” chorused the girls they walked back into the mall area and began to shop around pretty soon they were back outside the mall entrance waiting for Roger he soon appeared “ready” he asked them “ready” they replied they waited in line outside the theater to get tickets once inside they went to the snack stand Roger ordered a small popcorn and a coke Sandy ordered a medium popcorn and a coke and Andrea ordered a water Roger and Sandy exchanged knowing looks once they had their food they entered the theater they found seats and began to watch the movie all through the movie they could hear Andrea’s stomach growling once the movie was over they jumped into Sandy’s car and headed down the street for the Mexican restaurant once they were seated at their tables they began to look at the menu their waiter soon appeared “what can I get you today” he politely asked “I think I’ll have the chicken fajitas and the rice” ordered roger the waiter then looked towards Sandy “I’ll have the same as him” she said nodding towards Roger the waiter then looked towards Andrea “I’ll just have a small salad” she ordered the waiter looked at her but didn’t say anything he then walked into the kitchen once he was out of earshot Sandy and Roger turned on Andrea “what do you think your doing” snapped Sandy “are you trying to kill yourself” hissed Roger Andrea turned furious eyes on them “look I’m not hungry” she snapped “it’s my stomach and I think I’d know if I were hungry or not” Rogers eyes softened a little “look An we know you’re a big girl we’re just worried about you is all” Andrea’s look also softened “look I know I’m sorry I snapped I’m just tired is all” soon after the waiter appeared with their food they all dug in once they finished with their food they decided to go to Dairy Queen once there Roger and Sandy pleaded with Andrea to get some ice cream she smiled and ordered the largest item on the list once they finished eating they went home once Andrea said good night to her parents she got ready for bed the went into the bathroom stooped over the toilet and threw up everything she had eaten once she wiped her face and brushed her teeth she smiled inwardly and whispered to herself “ I’ll be thin yet” she then climbed into bed and slept
Chapter 2
The next morning Andrea woke earlier then usual followed her morning routine and quickly left the house before her mother could say anything about breakfast once she was in her car and down the street she didn’t know where to go she supposed she could go to Sandy’s but she figured she’d be sleeping still Andrea had only one other option Roger’s house even though Roger was her best guy friend she was a little skeptical about going over there so early in the morning it wasn’t that she was shy around Roger or his parents but she just didn’t want to run into any issues with him on her case about her diet as Andrea pondered these thoughts a few houses away was Roger following his own morning routine of waking early and getting ready to find something clean to wear in his mass of dirty laundry that his mother was always complaining about after a few minutes of him rooting through piles of dirty laundry he finally found something to wear once he was dressed and heading downstairs he went into the kitchen where his mother was at the stove and his father was reading the morning paper “good morning” they said “morning” Roger groggily replied Roger took a seat and soon after the doorbell rang Roger went to answer it and there was Andrea standing on the front stoop with a sheepish grin on her face “Ann” Roger exclaimed “what are you doing here?” “well I umm I was in the neighborhood and I thought I’d come by and see you” Andrea sheepishly replied “in the neighborhood? But you live two subdivisions away from me how is that in the neighborhood” “look Roge I woke up early and I felt like going for a drive and this is where I ended up if you want to leave then just say so and I’ll leave” “no don’t leave” the look in Rogers eyes softened “please come in and stay for breakfast” Andrea sighed and walked into the front foyer after Roger hung up her coat they walked down the hall and into the kitchen once there Roger’s mother turned and smiled warmly at Andrea “oh, Andrea what a wonderful surprise” “hi Mrs. Moore” Roger’s father looked up from his paper “hello Andrea” he said in his deep voice “hi Mr. Moore” “Andrea dear please take a seat “ gushed Mrs. More as Andrea took a seat Mrs. Moore began to talk “have you eaten dear” “no I haven’t I left before my mother awoke” “what are you doing out so early” inquired Roger’s father “now dear don’t pry into Andrea’s business, besides it’s time to eat” Andrea was contemplating on pretending she wasn’t hungry but one look from Roger made her changer her mind once Andrea began to eat she found that she couldn’t stop she was eating everything on the table and once she reached for her seventh piece of bacon she found herself being stared at he dropped the bacon and smiled sheepishly at them “I guess I was hungrier then I thought” she quietly explained once roger finished eating he motioned for Andrea to follow him “thank you for the meal Mrs. Moore” she called over her shoulder “oh, your quite welcome dear” Mrs. Moore called after her once Roger had stopped pulling her by the arm he closed the door to his room and said in his most menacing voice ever “spill it” Andrea looked worried and nervous as she responded “ Roger what are you talking about” “don’t play dumb with me An you know what I’m talking about, first your on a diet then today you eat everything in sight?” Andrea looked wry despite her bountiful nights sleep “Roger nothing is the matter with me. I was just hungry is all, can I use your bathroom?” Roger looked at her out of the corner of his eye “fine but make it quick I’m not finished with you” Andrea slowly walked to the bathroom stooped over the toilet and threw up once she finished she flushed the toilet washed her hands and walked out of the bathroom once she opened the door she saw Rogers angry face “spill it” he hissed Andrea closed her eyes and knew there was no way out of this and that Roger had trapped her
Chapter 3
Roger and Andrea walked slowly back to Roger’s room and they both sat down Roger gave Andrea a piercing look before once more hissing “spill it” Andrea briefly closed her eyes took a deep breath and began to speak “well” she said shakily not knowing exactly where to start “I was trying to loose weight so I went on a diet, but it became to much of a hassle so I thought this was a good way to loose weight” Roger just stared at her in amazement before speaking “Andrea Long you are by the far the smallest person I know why on earth are you trying to lose weight?” Andrea’s eyes began to water “oh, Roger I don’t know I just feel so fat and out of place and I think that if I lose the weight maybe people will see me as beautiful” Roger’s look softened “Ann you are beautiful and you always have been that’ll never change, and even if you were ugly or out of place we’d all still love you” Andrea wiped her eyes “Roger you have to promise that you wont tell anyone about this, this has to be just out little secret” “oh, Ann I can’t keep this a secret you really need help” a fire grew in Andrea’s eyes and she spoke coldly and harshly “look I don’t need any help I know what I’m doing and I’ll be perfectly safe you just worry about keeping this all a big secret got it?” Roger was take aback “fine Ann I’ll keep your secret just make sure you stay safe” as soon as roger promised to keep Andrea’s secret he knew he would regret it but he had no idea how much his word to secrecy would hurt Andrea and himself as soon as Andrea left that day Roger found himself at the free clinic outside of town he didn’t know why he had come all this way when there was a regular hospital right there near his home but in the back of his mind he knew that he was there because he didn’t want anyone to recognize him once there he quietly browsed through the pamphlets about eating disorders, bulimia, and anorexia once he had all he needed he quickly left and rushed to work as he was driving he vowed to save Andrea no matter what. Meanwhile Andrea was dealing with her own problems back at home her parents were awake and weren’t too happy to wake up and find Andrea missing without a trace “where have you been” her mother worriedly asked “I was with Roger” she wryly replied “oh, with Roger and did Roger keep you captive and tell you, you couldn’t use the phone” her father angrily asked “no I just forgot to call I’m sorry it’ll never happen again” her parents sighed and Andrea asked to be excused once Andrea was in her room she heard her parents hushed voices talking about her but Andrea was becoming to tired to listen she took off her shoes and jacket and laid down for a nap she woke three hours later and noticed that it was 5 o’clock she shuffled downstairs to find that her parents had left her a note telling her that they were visiting with friends in another county and would be back later they had left her 20$ for pizza and had said that she could invite two friends over Andrea didn’t much feel like inviting anyone over she ordered two large pizza’s with the works and began going around the house looking for what is known as “comfort food” once she had a vast amount of things piled up along with her pizza she began to binge once she was finished she felt sick and disgusted with herself after a few minutes of sitting there she walked into the bathroom and threw up once she finished she felt a little better as though she was beginning to do something about her weight she curled up on the couch and flipped through a magazine looking at all of the pictures of the beautiful models and she thought to herself “I’ll be one of them soon enough” not knowing that she would do more damage to herself then she could ever imagine possible her parents came home to find her sprawled out on the couch they woke her and she went to bed and for once in her life she didn’t follow her impeccable routine and she slunk into what she thought to be the worst sleep of her life but had Andrea known what she was doing to herself she would have stopped the horrendous cycle and began getting back on a regular eating routine but Andrea was a very stubborn child and would have none of that she instead began the next 3 most frightening nights of her life.
Chapter 4
Four months had passed since Roger’s vow to secrecy and every day he wished he’d never made the promise to Andrea for everyday he watched Andrea destroy her life and he couldn’t help but feel that in some part it was his fault as for Andrea she herself knew that the needed to stop the horrible cycle but she found herself becoming more and more obsessed with weight loss day after day she would abuse laxatives and find herself binging and purging quite often then one night Andrea found herself in a dream that scared her half to death in her dream it was a misty afternoon and she was purging then all of a sudden her teeth began to fall out one by one and she couldn’t stop it from happening and as her teeth were falling out she began to see all the face faces of the ones she loved swarm around her head saying in deathly voices “Andrea we told you this would happen you should have listened” soon after Andrea woke up with an intense toothache soon after her parents left for work she binged, purged and left for the dentist for Andrea binging and purging had become a way of life once Andrea signed in at the dentist she took a seat it wasn’t long before the assistant called out in a crackly old voice “Andrea Long” Andrea stood and walked to the back of the office once the assistant x-rayed Andrea’s mouth and once she was finished she looked at Andrea out of the corner of her eye and she “tsked” Andrea cringed and thought about how annoying it was to be “tsked” the nurse spoke again this time more gravely “ the doctor will be with you in a second” Andrea nodded and wondered why the nurse sounded so grave once the doctor came in he looked at Andrea’s chart and began to speak “well Andrea it seems that your teeth are beginning to chip do to an acid buildup” Andrea looked puzzled “what does that mean” she sheepishly asked “well it means I’ll have to do some scaling and in order to do that I’ll have to give you a shot of Novocain” Andrea looked sick “that isn’t a problem is it” the doctor worriedly asked Andrea quickly answered “no’ and the doctor got the procedure underway a few minutes after the Novocain was inside of Andrea she passed out once Andrea awoke she was in the hospital and she had tubes running through her veins she looked up and saw the faces of Roger, Sandy, and her parents looking worriedly down at her she looked up and shakily said “hi” her mother looked like she herself was about to pass out she carefully hugged Andrea and then stepped back “what am I doing here” Andrea worriedly asked then all of a sudden all of the color drained out of her face as she remembered what had happened and even worse was the fear that her parents knew what she had been doing and were going to confront her but that fear soon passed Andrea as her parents and Sandy went into the gift store to find Andrea something for Andrea at that moment her only problem was Roger as Andrea looked at him she felt a cold tingle go down her spine as she saw in Roger’s eyes something she had never before seen in them Roger icily spoke “I thought you were going to get some help I thought you were going to take care of this I thought a lot of things Andrea but I never thought you’d end up like this!” as soon as those words has flown from Rogers lips Andrea suddenly took on a very angry and icy tone herself “look” she hissed “this wasn’t my fault it was the Novocain” “you never would have had to have the Novocain if it weren’t for your nasty cycle” Roger shot back “look Andrea I’ve read up on what your doing and it’s a real disease did you know that some people that do this end up dead and for others it can take years to recover” Andrea’s face began to soften “look” she said “I know what I’m doing and I just need you to keep this a secret for a little longer and then I’ll quit I just need to lose a little more weight and I’ll be done” Roger looked annoyed but he reluctantly agreed soon after her parents returned along with the doctor he told Andrea that she could go home in the morning but should try and eat more her mother looked worried but didn’t say anything Roger and Andrea both knew that this wasn’t the end of Andrea’s vicious cycle but neither knew how far it would go
As the weeks went on Andrea continued to binge and purge and found herself with more and more health problems as quickly as she had become bulimic she had become sick and she knew that it was no longer just a secret between she and Roger somewhere deep inside herself she felt guilty and she knew that everyone knew about vicious cycle
Chapter 5
Almost two weeks had passed since Andrea horrifying experience at the hospital and she was far from normal they were soon out for thanksgiving break and before Andrea knew it she was In the kitchen helping her mother and grandmother cook cooking was the last thing Andrea wanted to do but nonetheless she woke up, dressed, and went to the kitchen where her mother and grandmother awaited her by 12 o’clock they were fast at work in the kitchen pretty soon the rest of Andrea’s relatives showed up and pretty soon so did Roger although Roger and Andrea were still best friends there was a slight tense feeling between them left from Andrea’s visit to the hospital but they both put on happy faces or what seemed to be happy faces and proceeded with the meal Andrea had no trouble with the meal and ate to her fill as she had become accustomed to doing in the past few weeks since her bulimic flight had begun her family seemed to not notice the change in Andrea but for Roger Andrea’s change was so great that it ruined his appetite more than once during the dinner Andrea found Roger looking at him this aroused and uneasiness in Andrea and she became quite tense during the remainder of the meal soon after the meal was over everyone dispersed into different sections of the house the women to the kitchen, the men to the TV room, and the children to the rec room Andrea and Roger being as how neither of them fit into any of the categories they wandered aimlessly around the neighborhood on a evening stroll after a few minutes of silence Roger spoke “How’s your diet?” Roger’s voice was as icy as the weather Andrea looked up at first shocked by Roger’s tone but then she took on a fierce fury in her eyes and before she could make a biting remark Roger spoke again “I’m sure you just love making the ones that love and care about you worry for your own selfish pleasure” “ Oh what do you know” Andrea quickly snapped “you live in a perfect world with your perfect parents and your perfect looks you have no idea why I do what I do so don’t give me crap about selfish pleasure if anyone is selfish it is you Roger Moore” Rogers eyes took on a blaze such as Andrea had never seen before “Perfect” he spat “If you think my life or anything about me is perfect then you’ve got another thing coming we all have problems no one is perfect least of all me” Andrea looked up her eyes no longer filled with pain but sadness before she could get the words to her lips Roger spoke once more “You hurt yourself and the people around you all so you can be what you think is perfect Andrea long I am not selfish if anyone is selfish it is you, you are by far the most selfish person I have ever met and sometimes I wish I hadn’t met you” the words were out before Roger could stop them one look at Andrea’s face made him wish the ground would swallow him alive as for Andrea Rogers words took all of the fight out of her, her eyes spilled with tears and in one short breath she uttered perhaps the most horrifying words Roger could have ever hoped to hear “is that what you really think of me?” her breath was barely a whisper Roger tried to speak but before he could Andrea ran off down the street she never looked back and for years to come one of Roger’s greatest regrets was that he didn’t chase after her
Chapter 6
Andrea ran home at top speed snuck past her parents grabbed her keys jumped into her car and drove off into town as Andrea drove she couldn’t stop the great sobs that made her body heave she also couldn’t help but repeat the horrifying words that Roger spoke “I wish I’d never met you” every time she thought if what he’d said fresh tears began to fall how could Roger of all people say something like that to her how could the one person she loved and trusted the most in this world say something so harsh and cold to her but then 1 word made her realize who and what had driven Roger to say what he said “me” as she spoke that word it was barely a whisper Andrea could no longer suppress her growing sobs that seemed to grow louder with every thought she had of Roger she managed to calm herself down enough to think of what she must do next after some thought and much consideration she decided to drive into town and stay at a hotel this plan wasn’t very appealing to her but it was the best she could think of besides going back home she drove quickly to a small market purchased 30 dollars worth of binging food checked into a hotel and preceded to binge to great extents she was soon done and did what she had become so accustomed to doing she went into the bathroom and purged she then unsteadily walked towards her bed fell carelessly onto it wept and finally slept on a tear stained pillow case
Roger was still standing at the spot that Andrea had left him at all he could do was stand and stare in awe he kept hoping, wishing, praying that Andrea would run back and they’d be friends again but in the back of his mind Roger knew that he and Andrea would never return to the way they were a frightening thought occurred to him ‘could it be that we’ve grown apart’ he quickly dismissed the idea ‘no’ he firmly told himself ‘ that could never happen Andrea and I will always be friends” even as he said that to himself somewhere in the back of his mind the frightening thought lurked after standing and waiting for a while longer Roger finally decided to go out and look for Andrea he went back to Andrea’s house grabbed his keys and drove off Roger looked all over the neighborhood for hours after finally coming to the realization that Andrea was nowhere to be found he drove back to Andrea’s house where he saw that most of the guests had dispersed and that his parents along with Andreas were the only ones still there Roger walked silently into the room took a deep breath and after making sure that all of the adults were watching him he began to speak in a shaky voice “Ann” he began but couldn’t finish because the emotion was taking over “Ann” he began again this time in a more steady voice “ is gone” Andreas mother looked up with a stricken face “well where is she” she eagerly demanded “where is my precious baby” “ I don’t know Mrs. Long Andrea and I had a fight and she just ran off” he said forgetting to mention that it was his sharp tong and even sharper words that had made Andrea leave Andrea’s father stood abruptly and announced in a very stern voice that he was calling the police as Roger watched the scene that was before him his mother comforting Andrea’s mother his father grabbing a flashlight and quickly leaving the house and Andrea’s father quickly announcing that the police would be there soon as Roger watched the people rush and work themselves into a frinzy over Andrea Roger became bitterly angry “look at them” he thought to himself “becoming all agitated over Andrea while she’s probably out having fun while we all worry about her” but even as he thought this he couldn’t keep the thought for too long he then began to pray silently hoping praying wishing that Andrea would be safe happy and comfortable even as Roger thought these things he himself knew that he and Andrea’s relationship would never again be the same
Chapter 7
Early the next day Roger was driving around in his car looking for Andrea he drove all through town looking and calling for her but he had no luck he reluctantly drove home disappointed by the time he reached Andrea’s house there was an entire search party out looking for Andrea and once again Roger couldn’t help but feel some traces of resentment towards Andrea. He quickly put aside all feelings of resent and once again got into his car to look for Andrea this time he took on a different approach putting himself in andrea’s shoes he finally decided that she would be somewhere in town with these thoughts in mind he began he long and tedious search while roger was worrying himself sick over Andrea, Andrea was taking advantage of all of the great opportunities she with her newly acquired money she went on a shopping spree to rid herself of all of the tensions and stress of the past few months after he spree she decided to go out to eat she chose a diner and as she sat with her menu she couldn’t help but let her thoughts drift off to Roger she quickly dismissed her appending thoughts and sternly told herself that it was her time to be happy and worry only about herself the waitress soon appeared and Andrea ordered and once the waitress left she began to observe rather longingly at a couple that was seated not far from her as she watched them she couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy she quickly dismissed her thought as her food appeared and she was ravenous she ate hastily and once finished she sat contentedly for a while just watching and observing the couple after ten minutes had passes he went into the restroom were she threw up everything she had eaten once she came from the restroom she payed for her meal and she stepped into the sunshine in the parking lot once there she was confronted with someone who had become her worst nightmare Roger

“hello Andrea” roger crisply said how nice to see you again Andrea’s eyes were filled with terror Roger quickly grabber her arm and led her to his car while rudely saying “come with me wont you” Andrea’s eyes then took on an icy glare as she quickly grabbed away from him her voice was as icy as her glare if not more “I’m not going anywhere with a person that wishes they’d never met me” she quickly snapped Roger looked slightly stunned “I knew that was too easy” he thought to himself he quickly put on his nicest face and said in his sweetest voice “Andrea will you please talk to me” Andrea grimaced feeling that this was a trap but she couldn’t help her appending feelings toward Roger “fine” she snapped not wanted to completely let down her guard they both separated into their own cars and Andrea followed Roger down the street to the nearby coffee shop once there they both took seats and waited until the waiter came before beginning their conversation Roger hesitantly began being careful to avoid Andrea’s still icy glare “look Ann” he began I didn’t mean any of those things I said I was angry that night and they just slipped “ha slipped” Andrea angrily retorted “how do things just slip you knew exactly what you were saying and you meant every word and as far as I’m concerned we are NOT friends anymore” Roger’s eyes looked pained and sad but he quickly recovered and spoke all too gravely “I cant make you want to be my friend but I can make you go home Andrea’s eyes took on a look of defiance “oh yeah and how” she asked with the slight air of a rebel by calling the police right now and telling them where you are and then my telling your parents where you are Andrea’s eyes took on the look of pure hatred “do it” she dared even though Andrea’s eyes frightened Andrea he stood his ground and calmly took out his cell phone and began to dial Andrea’s parents Andrea tried to stand her ground but at the last moment she grabbed the phone away form Roger and with the distinct air of a rebel snapped “fine I’ll go with you but we are no longer friends” the full impact of Andrea’s words made Roger’s chest feel like a block of ice that would never melt they both got up to leave they soon returned to Andrea’s house and Andrea was bombarded with hugs after the hugging affair was over Andrea was taken inside while Roger and his parents left for their own home to get some sleep Andrea’s father walked them to the door and thanked them for all of their help he then closed his door and began to speak quite menacingly to Andrea “do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused” he roared even Andrea’s mother cringed at his tone Andrea however still hadn’t gotten over her encounter with Roger that afternoon and she still had a lot of anger in her she quickly rose up and began to speak rather icily to her father “I knew what I was doing and I didn’t need any help” her father was angered even more than before “how dare you speak to me like this” his face was now a deep shade of red Andrea stood and said almost witheringly “I don’t have to take this I’m leaving and you’ll be lucky if I ever return” and with that Andrea swiftly walked past her parents and up the stairs where she then packed her bags and took them out to her car she then returned to her house took her cell phone and hugged her mother she turned one more withering gaze towards her father and with that she took up her keys and drove off her eyes brimming with tears
Part 2
Roger had gone home with his parents and once there he went up to his room to think he had to think the damage done to he and Andrea’s relationship as he was sprawled out on his bed thinking his phone began to vibrate he quickly answered it hoping it was Andrea and just his luck it was her Andrea’s voice was muffled with sobs but Roger gave her time to compose herself before she spoke “Roger I’m leaving this town and I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon don’t come looking for me because ill be fine I love you and I’m sorry for everything I said you’ll always be my best friend no matter what” before Roger could even get a word out Andrea hung up Roger tried to call her back to no avail she never picked up her phone and roger was so very afraid of what would happen to her without him there to protect her so many thoughts swarmed through Roger’s head and he fell asleep still thinking about Andrea
Once Andrea hung up the phone her body shook with heaving sobs of sadness and distress she quickly and rather recklessly drove back into town to the hotel where she’d stayed the night before she got her room and quickly went to sleep once again on a tear drenched pillow the next morning Andrea woke with a will to make it on her own in the world she resolved that she would no longer need her parents for support she then went to the café down the street about ordered her breakfast and while she waited she pawed through the paper looking for a job the waitress came back with her food and noticed Andrea looking for a job and she mentioned that the café had an opening Andrea look at her with grateful eyes and asked where she could apply the waitress left and shortly returned with an application Andrea began to fill it out at once she soon finished and she handed it to the waitress the waitress then took it in to her boss who gave Andrea the job immediately he was short on staff so he needed anyone who was willing and able to work he told Andrea to report the next day at 5 am he then went back to his office Andrea then turned to the kind waitress who’s name turned out to be Anna and she thanked her Anna told her to think nothing of it she was glad to help Andrea then asked her if she knew of nay nice but fairly inexpensive apartments Anna smiled and said that Andrea was in luck because she and her roommate had been looking for someone to live in their third bedroom and help out with rent Andrea’s eyes took on a bright shine “when can I see it?” she eagerly asked Anne laughed “well my last shift’s at 7:30 so if u want I’ll take u to see the place then and u can stay there tonight if you want “oh that’d be great” Andrea gushed with that Ann smiled and started to take orders while Ann worked Andrea began too look at Ann she figured that Ann was pretty enough with long chestnut brown hair and a tall slender figure Andrea thought that Ann was prettier then she for Andrea saw herself as fat and she never truly saw herself for the gorgeous beauty with the long light brown hair Andrea soon tired of having to sit so she put on an apron and began to wait on tables she realized that she was faster then expected and she made almost 30$ in tips by the time Ann was ready to leave Andrea followed Ann out into the dark parking lot and Ann hopped in Andrea’s car since hers was in the shop as they drove downtown Ann asked Andrea why she wasn’t living with her parents Andrea became a bit apprehensive about coming clean with her whole story but she decided that she trusted Ann so she told her everything except the part about her bulimia Ann listened politely and once Andrea finished her story Ann unbuckled her seatbelt reached over and gave Andrea a big hug once they reached Ann’s apartment Andrea was in awe over how gorgeous the outside appearance of it was Ann smiled at Andrea’s expression and then ushered her inside of the lobby once there they took the elevator up to the 12th floor where Ann’s apartment was once Ann opened the door with her key Andrea’s face showed nothing but pure shock at how beautifully furnished Ann’s place was sitting on the couch was who Andrea thought to be a absolutely gorgeous girl with long jet black hair and beautiful brown eyes Andrea was in as much awe with the girl as she was with the apartment the girl looked up form her magazine her eyes silently questioning Ann after a couple of minutes of silence the girl spoke “umm Ann might I ask who your new friend is” her voice hinted a touch of sarcasm that Andrea cringed at Ann’s voice was bright and pleasant “Jenna this is Andrea long and she’s here about the extra room” Ann turned slightly to Andrea and judging by her facial expressions id say she’s going to be out new roommate” Jenna stood and spoke “well in that case id like to say welcome Andrea you’ll make a wonderful addition to our home” Andrea smiled and Jenna crossed the room to hug her Ann then showed Andrea the rest of the apartment and all three girls went down the retrieve Andrea’s things Andrea then began to unpack her belongings and then preceded to take a shower she then dropped in on the girls while they watched TV she told them both good night and then she slunk into bed finally happy about where her life was headed
Chapter 10
Early the next morning Andrea woke and dressed in the uniform that she’d gotten the day before this time Andrea, Ann, and Jenna all went to work at the same time and they took Andrea’s car since Ann’s was still in the shop they arrived at work an hour before opening they got the tables ready and Ann and Jenna filled her in about all of the latest gossip about the customers Andrea’s sides ached with laughter after they had finished talking about everyone at 9:00 sharp the restaurant opened Andrea quickly became accustomed to the hustle of the small café her first customer was a woman not much older than she or so she appeared Andrea was polite cordial but yet the woman had a snooty and rude manner about her Andrea was all too happy when the woman left as the day wore on Andrea found that waitressing was harder than it looked she quickly gained an undying respect for Ann and Jenna who were seemingly veterans at the waitressing game Andrea found herself praying that the day would be over quickly and was relieved when her break came she and Ann took their break together and decided to go to the park to talk
*sigh* this book breaks every grammar rule ever... now I really wannah go back and edit everything....
It was a bright November morning and Andrea had just awoken from a wonderful sleep. She followed her morning routine that she knew all too well. She made her bed brushed her teeth took a shower and dressed. She was soon finished and made her way into the sunny kitchen where her parents awaited , “Good morning” they chorused “Good morning” she replied. As she took her seat at the table her mother asked her wether or not she would like waffles or cereal “neither” replied Andrea when her mother looked at her with an astonished expression on her face Andrea quickly explained that she was on a diet her mother made a face and protested “But you’re already so thin” Andrea turned to her with a mournful look on her face and whined “Oh, mother I am not thin I’m positively huge!”. Her mother made and said “Well what do u propose to eat then” Andrea answered with “I’ll just gave some juice” her mother was beside herself and gave a pleading look towards her husband Andrea’s father spoke up and said “Andrea please don’t worry your mother try and eat something” Andrea gave them both an annoyed look and said “fine if you two insist that I eat something then I suppose I’ll have a piece of toast”. Her mother gave her a satisfied look and prepared two slices of toast Andrea ate the toast looked at her parents and said “happy now?” her parents nodded and said “yes” as soon as Andrea was done she asked to be allowed to go to her friend Sandy’s house her mother nodded and after giving both her parents a hug she skipped gaily out the house.
Once out of the house Andrea walked down the street to Sandy’s house she knocked on the door twice and Sandy soon appeared. ”Hello” Sandy said “hi” replied Andrea the two girls walked into the warm house and up the winding stairs into Sandy’s room once there Andrea seated herself comfortable onto Sandy’s bed and sandy sat in her directors chair Andrea and sandy began to talk “have you talked to Laura” Sandy asked “not lately I think she’s been busy with her new job” replied Andrea. And awkward silence followed after Sandy looked up “hey! I know we could go to the mall” Sandy said Andrea smiled “that’d be great, I could use some new clothes” sandy asked if she had any money with her “yeah I do I brought my credit cards along” a few minutes later the girls were in Sandy’s car and driving down the highway “lets turn on some music” Sandy turned to their favorite station and pretty soon the girls were singing along to one of their favorite songs “It’s such a beautiful day” Andrea said Sandy nodded her agreement in a little while the girls turned off the highway and onto the main road leading to the mall pretty soon they were searching for a parking place and after they found one the hopped out of the car and walked into the mall entrance once inside the mall both girls looked at each other and said in unison “Claires” they giggled and walked into a nearby store once inside they began to browse within a couple of minutes they had both decided to buy new necklace that “they just had to have” once they had both paid for their purchases Sandy said “you pick the next store” Andrea wrinkled her brow and finally decided on penny’s once at the store Andrea began to look around she found a pair of jeans she positively loved she went into the changing room to try then and came out with a mournful look on her face once Sandy saw her face she exclaimed “what’s wrong?!” “they don’t fit” Andrea sadly replied “they don’t fit?” questioned Sandy “no they don’t fit” replied Andrea “are you sure?” Sandy looked at Andrea “yes I’m sure” “wow” said Sandy “that’s amazing considering your like the smallest person in 11th grade” “oh, Sandy” whined Andrea “you sound just like my mother why cant you both see that I’m huge” Sandy turned a shocked look towards Andrea “Ann” she exclaimed “you are so not huge and wherever did you get an idea like that?” “Sandy don’t tell me I’m the only one that sees how big I am I am not small and I never have been” Ann you have always been small and I don’t think that’ll ever change” “lets just drop the subject I’m starting to get a headache” said Andrea “ok that’s fine” the girls picked up their bags and began to look around the store some more once they finished with penny’s Sandy began to speak “well it’s almost lunch time and I’m not sure about you but I’m starving” Andrea grudgingly agreed the girls decided to go to the food court and decide on where they should eat “I don’t know about you but I’m in the mood for burgers and fries” Andrea made a face “do you have any idea how much fat is in one burger” “no” replied Sandy with a worried look “ but I don’t really think I’d want to know lets just get our food and find some tables” Andrea agreed the girls stepped into a line and when they got to the front Andrea was shocked to see her best guy friend Roger “Roge” shouted Andrea “what in the world are you doing here?” Roger looked a little embarrassed “I umm I just started working here” he mumbled “what would you girls like today” he quickly asked noticing his boss was standing a few feet away from him staring “ummm I’ll take a large fri a large coke and a burger with everything on it” roger looked at sandy with a faintly amused expression on his face “that all” he asked sarcastically Sandy gave him an annoyed look roger then looked at Sandy “and what would you like” he asked looking directly into Andrea’s eyes “ I’ll just have a coke” Roger looked questionly at Andrea “I’m on a diet” she quickly explained Roger then looked at Sandy, Sandy shrugged Roger gave Andrea a concerned look and he went to the back to get their orders once they sat down to eat Sandy asked Andrea if she was sure she didn’t want something more to eat “no” replied Andrea she drank her coke after Sandy finished eating they got up to empty their trash and walked back over to where roger was serving a mother and her children they waited until business slowed down a bit then they talked to Roger “what time do you get off work?” Sandy wanted to know “I’m a couple of hours why” “oh I don’t know I was thinking maybe we could catch a movie then go out to eat” “that’d be great just let me finish up here then I’ll change back into my regular clothes” while the three of them made planes to meet outside of the mall entrance in exactly three hours a small line formed “ROGER” shouted his boss “get back to work” “gotta go” roger told the girls see you later” “ later” chorused the girls they walked back into the mall area and began to shop around pretty soon they were back outside the mall entrance waiting for Roger he soon appeared “ready” he asked them “ready” they replied they waited in line outside the theater to get tickets once inside they went to the snack stand Roger ordered a small popcorn and a coke Sandy ordered a medium popcorn and a coke and Andrea ordered a water Roger and Sandy exchanged knowing looks once they had their food they entered the theater they found seats and began to watch the movie all through the movie they could hear Andrea’s stomach growling once the movie was over they jumped into Sandy’s car and headed down the street for the Mexican restaurant once they were seated at their tables they began to look at the menu their waiter soon appeared “what can I get you today” he politely asked “I think I’ll have the chicken fajitas and the rice” ordered roger the waiter then looked towards Sandy “I’ll have the same as him” she said nodding towards Roger the waiter then looked towards Andrea “I’ll just have a small salad” she ordered the waiter looked at her but didn’t say anything he then walked into the kitchen once he was out of earshot Sandy and Roger turned on Andrea “what do you think your doing” snapped Sandy “are you trying to kill yourself” hissed Roger Andrea turned furious eyes on them “look I’m not hungry” she snapped “it’s my stomach and I think I’d know if I were hungry or not” Rogers eyes softened a little “look An we know you’re a big girl we’re just worried about you is all” Andrea’s look also softened “look I know I’m sorry I snapped I’m just tired is all” soon after the waiter appeared with their food they all dug in once they finished with their food they decided to go to Dairy Queen once there Roger and Sandy pleaded with Andrea to get some ice cream she smiled and ordered the largest item on the list once they finished eating they went home once Andrea said good night to her parents she got ready for bed the went into the bathroom stooped over the toilet and threw up everything she had eaten once she wiped her face and brushed her teeth she smiled inwardly and whispered to herself “ I’ll be thin yet” she then climbed into bed and slept
Chapter 2
The next morning Andrea woke earlier then usual followed her morning routine and quickly left the house before her mother could say anything about breakfast once she was in her car and down the street she didn’t know where to go she supposed she could go to Sandy’s but she figured she’d be sleeping still Andrea had only one other option Roger’s house even though Roger was her best guy friend she was a little skeptical about going over there so early in the morning it wasn’t that she was shy around Roger or his parents but she just didn’t want to run into any issues with him on her case about her diet as Andrea pondered these thoughts a few houses away was Roger following his own morning routine of waking early and getting ready to find something clean to wear in his mass of dirty laundry that his mother was always complaining about after a few minutes of him rooting through piles of dirty laundry he finally found something to wear once he was dressed and heading downstairs he went into the kitchen where his mother was at the stove and his father was reading the morning paper “good morning” they said “morning” Roger groggily replied Roger took a seat and soon after the doorbell rang Roger went to answer it and there was Andrea standing on the front stoop with a sheepish grin on her face “Ann” Roger exclaimed “what are you doing here?” “well I umm I was in the neighborhood and I thought I’d come by and see you” Andrea sheepishly replied “in the neighborhood? But you live two subdivisions away from me how is that in the neighborhood” “look Roge I woke up early and I felt like going for a drive and this is where I ended up if you want to leave then just say so and I’ll leave” “no don’t leave” the look in Rogers eyes softened “please come in and stay for breakfast” Andrea sighed and walked into the front foyer after Roger hung up her coat they walked down the hall and into the kitchen once there Roger’s mother turned and smiled warmly at Andrea “oh, Andrea what a wonderful surprise” “hi Mrs. Moore” Roger’s father looked up from his paper “hello Andrea” he said in his deep voice “hi Mr. Moore” “Andrea dear please take a seat “ gushed Mrs. More as Andrea took a seat Mrs. Moore began to talk “have you eaten dear” “no I haven’t I left before my mother awoke” “what are you doing out so early” inquired Roger’s father “now dear don’t pry into Andrea’s business, besides it’s time to eat” Andrea was contemplating on pretending she wasn’t hungry but one look from Roger made her changer her mind once Andrea began to eat she found that she couldn’t stop she was eating everything on the table and once she reached for her seventh piece of bacon she found herself being stared at he dropped the bacon and smiled sheepishly at them “I guess I was hungrier then I thought” she quietly explained once roger finished eating he motioned for Andrea to follow him “thank you for the meal Mrs. Moore” she called over her shoulder “oh, your quite welcome dear” Mrs. Moore called after her once Roger had stopped pulling her by the arm he closed the door to his room and said in his most menacing voice ever “spill it” Andrea looked worried and nervous as she responded “ Roger what are you talking about” “don’t play dumb with me An you know what I’m talking about, first your on a diet then today you eat everything in sight?” Andrea looked wry despite her bountiful nights sleep “Roger nothing is the matter with me. I was just hungry is all, can I use your bathroom?” Roger looked at her out of the corner of his eye “fine but make it quick I’m not finished with you” Andrea slowly walked to the bathroom stooped over the toilet and threw up once she finished she flushed the toilet washed her hands and walked out of the bathroom once she opened the door she saw Rogers angry face “spill it” he hissed Andrea closed her eyes and knew there was no way out of this and that Roger had trapped her
Chapter 3
Roger and Andrea walked slowly back to Roger’s room and they both sat down Roger gave Andrea a piercing look before once more hissing “spill it” Andrea briefly closed her eyes took a deep breath and began to speak “well” she said shakily not knowing exactly where to start “I was trying to loose weight so I went on a diet, but it became to much of a hassle so I thought this was a good way to loose weight” Roger just stared at her in amazement before speaking “Andrea Long you are by the far the smallest person I know why on earth are you trying to lose weight?” Andrea’s eyes began to water “oh, Roger I don’t know I just feel so fat and out of place and I think that if I lose the weight maybe people will see me as beautiful” Roger’s look softened “Ann you are beautiful and you always have been that’ll never change, and even if you were ugly or out of place we’d all still love you” Andrea wiped her eyes “Roger you have to promise that you wont tell anyone about this, this has to be just out little secret” “oh, Ann I can’t keep this a secret you really need help” a fire grew in Andrea’s eyes and she spoke coldly and harshly “look I don’t need any help I know what I’m doing and I’ll be perfectly safe you just worry about keeping this all a big secret got it?” Roger was take aback “fine Ann I’ll keep your secret just make sure you stay safe” as soon as roger promised to keep Andrea’s secret he knew he would regret it but he had no idea how much his word to secrecy would hurt Andrea and himself as soon as Andrea left that day Roger found himself at the free clinic outside of town he didn’t know why he had come all this way when there was a regular hospital right there near his home but in the back of his mind he knew that he was there because he didn’t want anyone to recognize him once there he quietly browsed through the pamphlets about eating disorders, bulimia, and anorexia once he had all he needed he quickly left and rushed to work as he was driving he vowed to save Andrea no matter what. Meanwhile Andrea was dealing with her own problems back at home her parents were awake and weren’t too happy to wake up and find Andrea missing without a trace “where have you been” her mother worriedly asked “I was with Roger” she wryly replied “oh, with Roger and did Roger keep you captive and tell you, you couldn’t use the phone” her father angrily asked “no I just forgot to call I’m sorry it’ll never happen again” her parents sighed and Andrea asked to be excused once Andrea was in her room she heard her parents hushed voices talking about her but Andrea was becoming to tired to listen she took off her shoes and jacket and laid down for a nap she woke three hours later and noticed that it was 5 o’clock she shuffled downstairs to find that her parents had left her a note telling her that they were visiting with friends in another county and would be back later they had left her 20$ for pizza and had said that she could invite two friends over Andrea didn’t much feel like inviting anyone over she ordered two large pizza’s with the works and began going around the house looking for what is known as “comfort food” once she had a vast amount of things piled up along with her pizza she began to binge once she was finished she felt sick and disgusted with herself after a few minutes of sitting there she walked into the bathroom and threw up once she finished she felt a little better as though she was beginning to do something about her weight she curled up on the couch and flipped through a magazine looking at all of the pictures of the beautiful models and she thought to herself “I’ll be one of them soon enough” not knowing that she would do more damage to herself then she could ever imagine possible her parents came home to find her sprawled out on the couch they woke her and she went to bed and for once in her life she didn’t follow her impeccable routine and she slunk into what she thought to be the worst sleep of her life but had Andrea known what she was doing to herself she would have stopped the horrendous cycle and began getting back on a regular eating routine but Andrea was a very stubborn child and would have none of that she instead began the next 3 most frightening nights of her life.
Chapter 4
Four months had passed since Roger’s vow to secrecy and every day he wished he’d never made the promise to Andrea for everyday he watched Andrea destroy her life and he couldn’t help but feel that in some part it was his fault as for Andrea she herself knew that the needed to stop the horrible cycle but she found herself becoming more and more obsessed with weight loss day after day she would abuse laxatives and find herself binging and purging quite often then one night Andrea found herself in a dream that scared her half to death in her dream it was a misty afternoon and she was purging then all of a sudden her teeth began to fall out one by one and she couldn’t stop it from happening and as her teeth were falling out she began to see all the face faces of the ones she loved swarm around her head saying in deathly voices “Andrea we told you this would happen you should have listened” soon after Andrea woke up with an intense toothache soon after her parents left for work she binged, purged and left for the dentist for Andrea binging and purging had become a way of life once Andrea signed in at the dentist she took a seat it wasn’t long before the assistant called out in a crackly old voice “Andrea Long” Andrea stood and walked to the back of the office once the assistant x-rayed Andrea’s mouth and once she was finished she looked at Andrea out of the corner of her eye and she “tsked” Andrea cringed and thought about how annoying it was to be “tsked” the nurse spoke again this time more gravely “ the doctor will be with you in a second” Andrea nodded and wondered why the nurse sounded so grave once the doctor came in he looked at Andrea’s chart and began to speak “well Andrea it seems that your teeth are beginning to chip do to an acid buildup” Andrea looked puzzled “what does that mean” she sheepishly asked “well it means I’ll have to do some scaling and in order to do that I’ll have to give you a shot of Novocain” Andrea looked sick “that isn’t a problem is it” the doctor worriedly asked Andrea quickly answered “no’ and the doctor got the procedure underway a few minutes after the Novocain was inside of Andrea she passed out once Andrea awoke she was in the hospital and she had tubes running through her veins she looked up and saw the faces of Roger, Sandy, and her parents looking worriedly down at her she looked up and shakily said “hi” her mother looked like she herself was about to pass out she carefully hugged Andrea and then stepped back “what am I doing here” Andrea worriedly asked then all of a sudden all of the color drained out of her face as she remembered what had happened and even worse was the fear that her parents knew what she had been doing and were going to confront her but that fear soon passed Andrea as her parents and Sandy went into the gift store to find Andrea something for Andrea at that moment her only problem was Roger as Andrea looked at him she felt a cold tingle go down her spine as she saw in Roger’s eyes something she had never before seen in them Roger icily spoke “I thought you were going to get some help I thought you were going to take care of this I thought a lot of things Andrea but I never thought you’d end up like this!” as soon as those words has flown from Rogers lips Andrea suddenly took on a very angry and icy tone herself “look” she hissed “this wasn’t my fault it was the Novocain” “you never would have had to have the Novocain if it weren’t for your nasty cycle” Roger shot back “look Andrea I’ve read up on what your doing and it’s a real disease did you know that some people that do this end up dead and for others it can take years to recover” Andrea’s face began to soften “look” she said “I know what I’m doing and I just need you to keep this a secret for a little longer and then I’ll quit I just need to lose a little more weight and I’ll be done” Roger looked annoyed but he reluctantly agreed soon after her parents returned along with the doctor he told Andrea that she could go home in the morning but should try and eat more her mother looked worried but didn’t say anything Roger and Andrea both knew that this wasn’t the end of Andrea’s vicious cycle but neither knew how far it would go
As the weeks went on Andrea continued to binge and purge and found herself with more and more health problems as quickly as she had become bulimic she had become sick and she knew that it was no longer just a secret between she and Roger somewhere deep inside herself she felt guilty and she knew that everyone knew about vicious cycle
Chapter 5
Almost two weeks had passed since Andrea horrifying experience at the hospital and she was far from normal they were soon out for thanksgiving break and before Andrea knew it she was In the kitchen helping her mother and grandmother cook cooking was the last thing Andrea wanted to do but nonetheless she woke up, dressed, and went to the kitchen where her mother and grandmother awaited her by 12 o’clock they were fast at work in the kitchen pretty soon the rest of Andrea’s relatives showed up and pretty soon so did Roger although Roger and Andrea were still best friends there was a slight tense feeling between them left from Andrea’s visit to the hospital but they both put on happy faces or what seemed to be happy faces and proceeded with the meal Andrea had no trouble with the meal and ate to her fill as she had become accustomed to doing in the past few weeks since her bulimic flight had begun her family seemed to not notice the change in Andrea but for Roger Andrea’s change was so great that it ruined his appetite more than once during the dinner Andrea found Roger looking at him this aroused and uneasiness in Andrea and she became quite tense during the remainder of the meal soon after the meal was over everyone dispersed into different sections of the house the women to the kitchen, the men to the TV room, and the children to the rec room Andrea and Roger being as how neither of them fit into any of the categories they wandered aimlessly around the neighborhood on a evening stroll after a few minutes of silence Roger spoke “How’s your diet?” Roger’s voice was as icy as the weather Andrea looked up at first shocked by Roger’s tone but then she took on a fierce fury in her eyes and before she could make a biting remark Roger spoke again “I’m sure you just love making the ones that love and care about you worry for your own selfish pleasure” “ Oh what do you know” Andrea quickly snapped “you live in a perfect world with your perfect parents and your perfect looks you have no idea why I do what I do so don’t give me crap about selfish pleasure if anyone is selfish it is you Roger Moore” Rogers eyes took on a blaze such as Andrea had never seen before “Perfect” he spat “If you think my life or anything about me is perfect then you’ve got another thing coming we all have problems no one is perfect least of all me” Andrea looked up her eyes no longer filled with pain but sadness before she could get the words to her lips Roger spoke once more “You hurt yourself and the people around you all so you can be what you think is perfect Andrea long I am not selfish if anyone is selfish it is you, you are by far the most selfish person I have ever met and sometimes I wish I hadn’t met you” the words were out before Roger could stop them one look at Andrea’s face made him wish the ground would swallow him alive as for Andrea Rogers words took all of the fight out of her, her eyes spilled with tears and in one short breath she uttered perhaps the most horrifying words Roger could have ever hoped to hear “is that what you really think of me?” her breath was barely a whisper Roger tried to speak but before he could Andrea ran off down the street she never looked back and for years to come one of Roger’s greatest regrets was that he didn’t chase after her
Chapter 6
Andrea ran home at top speed snuck past her parents grabbed her keys jumped into her car and drove off into town as Andrea drove she couldn’t stop the great sobs that made her body heave she also couldn’t help but repeat the horrifying words that Roger spoke “I wish I’d never met you” every time she thought if what he’d said fresh tears began to fall how could Roger of all people say something like that to her how could the one person she loved and trusted the most in this world say something so harsh and cold to her but then 1 word made her realize who and what had driven Roger to say what he said “me” as she spoke that word it was barely a whisper Andrea could no longer suppress her growing sobs that seemed to grow louder with every thought she had of Roger she managed to calm herself down enough to think of what she must do next after some thought and much consideration she decided to drive into town and stay at a hotel this plan wasn’t very appealing to her but it was the best she could think of besides going back home she drove quickly to a small market purchased 30 dollars worth of binging food checked into a hotel and preceded to binge to great extents she was soon done and did what she had become so accustomed to doing she went into the bathroom and purged she then unsteadily walked towards her bed fell carelessly onto it wept and finally slept on a tear stained pillow case
Roger was still standing at the spot that Andrea had left him at all he could do was stand and stare in awe he kept hoping, wishing, praying that Andrea would run back and they’d be friends again but in the back of his mind Roger knew that he and Andrea would never return to the way they were a frightening thought occurred to him ‘could it be that we’ve grown apart’ he quickly dismissed the idea ‘no’ he firmly told himself ‘ that could never happen Andrea and I will always be friends” even as he said that to himself somewhere in the back of his mind the frightening thought lurked after standing and waiting for a while longer Roger finally decided to go out and look for Andrea he went back to Andrea’s house grabbed his keys and drove off Roger looked all over the neighborhood for hours after finally coming to the realization that Andrea was nowhere to be found he drove back to Andrea’s house where he saw that most of the guests had dispersed and that his parents along with Andreas were the only ones still there Roger walked silently into the room took a deep breath and after making sure that all of the adults were watching him he began to speak in a shaky voice “Ann” he began but couldn’t finish because the emotion was taking over “Ann” he began again this time in a more steady voice “ is gone” Andreas mother looked up with a stricken face “well where is she” she eagerly demanded “where is my precious baby” “ I don’t know Mrs. Long Andrea and I had a fight and she just ran off” he said forgetting to mention that it was his sharp tong and even sharper words that had made Andrea leave Andrea’s father stood abruptly and announced in a very stern voice that he was calling the police as Roger watched the scene that was before him his mother comforting Andrea’s mother his father grabbing a flashlight and quickly leaving the house and Andrea’s father quickly announcing that the police would be there soon as Roger watched the people rush and work themselves into a frinzy over Andrea Roger became bitterly angry “look at them” he thought to himself “becoming all agitated over Andrea while she’s probably out having fun while we all worry about her” but even as he thought this he couldn’t keep the thought for too long he then began to pray silently hoping praying wishing that Andrea would be safe happy and comfortable even as Roger thought these things he himself knew that he and Andrea’s relationship would never again be the same
Chapter 7
Early the next day Roger was driving around in his car looking for Andrea he drove all through town looking and calling for her but he had no luck he reluctantly drove home disappointed by the time he reached Andrea’s house there was an entire search party out looking for Andrea and once again Roger couldn’t help but feel some traces of resentment towards Andrea. He quickly put aside all feelings of resent and once again got into his car to look for Andrea this time he took on a different approach putting himself in andrea’s shoes he finally decided that she would be somewhere in town with these thoughts in mind he began he long and tedious search while roger was worrying himself sick over Andrea, Andrea was taking advantage of all of the great opportunities she with her newly acquired money she went on a shopping spree to rid herself of all of the tensions and stress of the past few months after he spree she decided to go out to eat she chose a diner and as she sat with her menu she couldn’t help but let her thoughts drift off to Roger she quickly dismissed her appending thoughts and sternly told herself that it was her time to be happy and worry only about herself the waitress soon appeared and Andrea ordered and once the waitress left she began to observe rather longingly at a couple that was seated not far from her as she watched them she couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy she quickly dismissed her thought as her food appeared and she was ravenous she ate hastily and once finished she sat contentedly for a while just watching and observing the couple after ten minutes had passes he went into the restroom were she threw up everything she had eaten once she came from the restroom she payed for her meal and she stepped into the sunshine in the parking lot once there she was confronted with someone who had become her worst nightmare Roger
Chapter 8
“hello Andrea” roger crisply said how nice to see you again Andrea’s eyes were filled with terror Roger quickly grabber her arm and led her to his car while rudely saying “come with me wont you” Andrea’s eyes then took on an icy glare as she quickly grabbed away from him her voice was as icy as her glare if not more “I’m not going anywhere with a person that wishes they’d never met me” she quickly snapped Roger looked slightly stunned “I knew that was too easy” he thought to himself he quickly put on his nicest face and said in his sweetest voice “Andrea will you please talk to me” Andrea grimaced feeling that this was a trap but she couldn’t help her appending feelings toward Roger “fine” she snapped not wanted to completely let down her guard they both separated into their own cars and Andrea followed Roger down the street to the nearby coffee shop once there they both took seats and waited until the waiter came before beginning their conversation Roger hesitantly began being careful to avoid Andrea’s still icy glare “look Ann” he began I didn’t mean any of those things I said I was angry that night and they just slipped “ha slipped” Andrea angrily retorted “how do things just slip you knew exactly what you were saying and you meant every word and as far as I’m concerned we are NOT friends anymore” Roger’s eyes looked pained and sad but he quickly recovered and spoke all too gravely “I cant make you want to be my friend but I can make you go home Andrea’s eyes took on a look of defiance “oh yeah and how” she asked with the slight air of a rebel by calling the police right now and telling them where you are and then my telling your parents where you are Andrea’s eyes took on the look of pure hatred “do it” she dared even though Andrea’s eyes frightened Andrea he stood his ground and calmly took out his cell phone and began to dial Andrea’s parents Andrea tried to stand her ground but at the last moment she grabbed the phone away form Roger and with the distinct air of a rebel snapped “fine I’ll go with you but we are no longer friends” the full impact of Andrea’s words made Roger’s chest feel like a block of ice that would never melt they both got up to leave they soon returned to Andrea’s house and Andrea was bombarded with hugs after the hugging affair was over Andrea was taken inside while Roger and his parents left for their own home to get some sleep Andrea’s father walked them to the door and thanked them for all of their help he then closed his door and began to speak quite menacingly to Andrea “do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused” he roared even Andrea’s mother cringed at his tone Andrea however still hadn’t gotten over her encounter with Roger that afternoon and she still had a lot of anger in her she quickly rose up and began to speak rather icily to her father “I knew what I was doing and I didn’t need any help” her father was angered even more than before “how dare you speak to me like this” his face was now a deep shade of red Andrea stood and said almost witheringly “I don’t have to take this I’m leaving and you’ll be lucky if I ever return” and with that Andrea swiftly walked past her parents and up the stairs where she then packed her bags and took them out to her car she then returned to her house took her cell phone and hugged her mother she turned one more withering gaze towards her father and with that she took up her keys and drove off her eyes brimming with tears

Roger had gone home with his parents and once there he went up to his room to think he had to think the damage done to he and Andrea’s relationship as he was sprawled out on his bed thinking his phone began to vibrate he quickly answered it hoping it was Andrea and just his luck it was her Andrea’s voice was muffled with sobs but Roger gave her time to compose herself before she spoke “Roger I’m leaving this town and I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon don’t come looking for me because ill be fine I love you and I’m sorry for everything I said you’ll always be my best friend no matter what” before Roger could even get a word out Andrea hung up Roger tried to call her back to no avail she never picked up her phone and roger was so very afraid of what would happen to her without him there to protect her so many thoughts swarmed through Roger’s head and he fell asleep still thinking about Andrea
Once Andrea hung up the phone her body shook with heaving sobs of sadness and distress she quickly and rather recklessly drove back into town to the hotel where she’d stayed the night before she got her room and quickly went to sleep once again on a tear drenched pillow the next morning Andrea woke with a will to make it on her own in the world she resolved that she would no longer need her parents for support she then went to the café down the street about ordered her breakfast and while she waited she pawed through the paper looking for a job the waitress came back with her food and noticed Andrea looking for a job and she mentioned that the café had an opening Andrea look at her with grateful eyes and asked where she could apply the waitress left and shortly returned with an application Andrea began to fill it out at once she soon finished and she handed it to the waitress the waitress then took it in to her boss who gave Andrea the job immediately he was short on staff so he needed anyone who was willing and able to work he told Andrea to report the next day at 5 am he then went back to his office Andrea then turned to the kind waitress who’s name turned out to be Anna and she thanked her Anna told her to think nothing of it she was glad to help Andrea then asked her if she knew of nay nice but fairly inexpensive apartments Anna smiled and said that Andrea was in luck because she and her roommate had been looking for someone to live in their third bedroom and help out with rent Andrea’s eyes took on a bright shine “when can I see it?” she eagerly asked Anne laughed “well my last shift’s at 7:30 so if u want I’ll take u to see the place then and u can stay there tonight if you want “oh that’d be great” Andrea gushed with that Ann smiled and started to take orders while Ann worked Andrea began too look at Ann she figured that Ann was pretty enough with long chestnut brown hair and a tall slender figure Andrea thought that Ann was prettier then she for Andrea saw herself as fat and she never truly saw herself for the gorgeous beauty with the long light brown hair Andrea soon tired of having to sit so she put on an apron and began to wait on tables she realized that she was faster then expected and she made almost 30$ in tips by the time Ann was ready to leave Andrea followed Ann out into the dark parking lot and Ann hopped in Andrea’s car since hers was in the shop as they drove downtown Ann asked Andrea why she wasn’t living with her parents Andrea became a bit apprehensive about coming clean with her whole story but she decided that she trusted Ann so she told her everything except the part about her bulimia Ann listened politely and once Andrea finished her story Ann unbuckled her seatbelt reached over and gave Andrea a big hug once they reached Ann’s apartment Andrea was in awe over how gorgeous the outside appearance of it was Ann smiled at Andrea’s expression and then ushered her inside of the lobby once there they took the elevator up to the 12th floor where Ann’s apartment was once Ann opened the door with her key Andrea’s face showed nothing but pure shock at how beautifully furnished Ann’s place was sitting on the couch was who Andrea thought to be a absolutely gorgeous girl with long jet black hair and beautiful brown eyes Andrea was in as much awe with the girl as she was with the apartment the girl looked up form her magazine her eyes silently questioning Ann after a couple of minutes of silence the girl spoke “umm Ann might I ask who your new friend is” her voice hinted a touch of sarcasm that Andrea cringed at Ann’s voice was bright and pleasant “Jenna this is Andrea long and she’s here about the extra room” Ann turned slightly to Andrea and judging by her facial expressions id say she’s going to be out new roommate” Jenna stood and spoke “well in that case id like to say welcome Andrea you’ll make a wonderful addition to our home” Andrea smiled and Jenna crossed the room to hug her Ann then showed Andrea the rest of the apartment and all three girls went down the retrieve Andrea’s things Andrea then began to unpack her belongings and then preceded to take a shower she then dropped in on the girls while they watched TV she told them both good night and then she slunk into bed finally happy about where her life was headed
Chapter 10
Early the next morning Andrea woke and dressed in the uniform that she’d gotten the day before this time Andrea, Ann, and Jenna all went to work at the same time and they took Andrea’s car since Ann’s was still in the shop they arrived at work an hour before opening they got the tables ready and Ann and Jenna filled her in about all of the latest gossip about the customers Andrea’s sides ached with laughter after they had finished talking about everyone at 9:00 sharp the restaurant opened Andrea quickly became accustomed to the hustle of the small café her first customer was a woman not much older than she or so she appeared Andrea was polite cordial but yet the woman had a snooty and rude manner about her Andrea was all too happy when the woman left as the day wore on Andrea found that waitressing was harder than it looked she quickly gained an undying respect for Ann and Jenna who were seemingly veterans at the waitressing game Andrea found herself praying that the day would be over quickly and was relieved when her break came she and Ann took their break together and decided to go to the park to talk
*sigh* this book breaks every grammar rule ever... now I really wannah go back and edit everything....
