I'll admit right now, I haven't done anything for the blogs since my last post. I have, however, knocked out a lot of the Liam & Jer outline, deciding on details and fixing problems. I realize that I'm focusing a lot on the outline and not on the actual writing--probably too much--but I'm just afraid of working hard on one part, then going back to the outline, deciding to tweak something, and having to completely change or outright scrap what I'd just worked hard on. I'd rather be completely planned out and prepared before starting the hard part.
I tried getting pictures of my stitching projects (both finished and in-progress), but I couldn't get any decent pictures at all. I'm thinking I either need to change something about how I'm taking the pictures (which reminds me, I forgot to ask Dad for help), or just give up and scan them. Problem with that is, the only scanner I currently have access to is here at work. I'd have to wait until closing, scan them, transfer them from the work computer to a thumb drive to my computer, and hope the craptastic PC middle man doesn't make them look awful.
Mom and I actually have two combination-printers at home, both of which technically work. Printer A: Only works the first job after it's plugged in. Printer B: Ink cartridge won't fit in. Mom was going to pick one and fix it up and move it into the living room this past weekend, but spent three days feeling nauseous instead. Bum. ;)
So, I'm "officially" "moving in" with Ryan. Currently, I stay over at his house on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with rare Sundays. We have the entirety of Wednesday and half of Saturdays to spend time together, get household stuff done, etc.
When school starts, we'll have half of Wednesday and half of Saturday*, both of which will also be shared with household chores and errands, friends (hopefully), and schoolwork. The idea came up that we'd have a bit more quality time together if I just lived there. So, we're currently working to make the place a bit better for two people--repainting, reorganizing, making room for some of my stuff (although I'm only bringing over clothing and books), etc.
*This is really only half for me, since Ryan currently stays up and goes to bed pretty late (until the economy stops sucking and he's able to get a job that leads him to normal hours). Both days, I'll be getting up and going to bed pretty early. So, full day for him, half day for me.
Sundays are also one of Justin's two days off, and since he and Ryan don't get to see many other people (Justin because of his third-shift schedule, and Ryan because of his agoraphobia and distance from the social "hub"), it's really their first day all week to be social (or as social as two people can be) and completely geek out over WoW, Top Gear, and other guy stuff. I usually don't enjoy myself too much with all that, so I'll be using that day (my one full day off) to go home-home ("Mom's house" from now on) and do stuff there--visiting with Mom and the cats, doing chores, writing, getting schoolwork done, etc (Those last two will be easier once my desk is cleaned off).
Life is pretty good right now. Today is my last "normal" day before all hell breaks loose. Tomorrow I work noon to close. Next week I work one to close every day. The next two weekends will be jammed with trying to get Ry's place ready. The Monday after next, August 31, is the first day of classes.
