So, Mom sold my old Ford to Ryan's mom. Peachy. Even peachier, Mom is splitting the sale with me down the middle. Since Gail (Ryan's mom) is paying in installments, I'm also getting my money in installments. We decided this yesterday. I had to go the bank today anyway to deposit a couple of paychecks, so I decided to just withdraw my half of the first installment while I was there. Peachy.
I just didn't make the connection of putting the money from one account into another...so now I have $160 in cash in my wallet. Granted, $10 of that is for Justin, but, um, yeah. Actually more that that, I took $40 from the deposited checks, and I already had about a dozen singles in there...so, without counting, I'm guessing I have around $210 in my wallet right now. And just over $300 in my bank account.
o.O
My brain hurts.
Amount of money has not yet sunk in.
*digs out Summer Buy List*
I could pay off Justin, and get my external harddrive, OR go do some clothes shopping. Or let it sit and lure more money toward it.
Hey, it worked already, my next paycheck is ready already! Just under $200! Woo!
So, this time tomorrow, if I made the probably-smart decision, I could have around $700 in the bank.
...okay, NOW my head hurts.
Maybe I won't need that second job. Except my hours will be going down, unless I try and talk her into doing a morning or two a week....we shall seeee.
So, yeah, got my XBox from Justin. Console, 4 wired controllers (one iffy), one wireless controller (adapter currently somewhere in Justin's nest room), and 35 games. Thirty-five games. Because (a) I have no TV in my room, (b) the living room has been dubious lately, and (c) I'm barely ever home, the XBox will live at Ryan's for the time being. I'm there most of the time anyway, most of the games are multi-player that the two of them/three of us enjoy together, it just makes sense. Although, when Justin brings his Wii over, there's 5 freaking video game consoles gathered around Ryan's TV. My XBox, Ryan's XBox 360 and PlayStation2, my GameCube, and Justin's Wii. Not to mention that all of us have DS Lites (Ryan's and mine are white, Justin's is black).
We're not nerds. Not at all.
I mentioned that the living room is dubious; this is actually only partly true right now. Yesterday, while Ryan and Justin attacked the greenery that is our yard, I attacked the living room. Mog seems to have something against video cassettes and has pissed on them three or four times, the couch still had the smell of the last time, as did the plant corner for some reason. Damn but male cat urine is pungent and lasting. Christ.
Anyway, I had followed Dad's suggestion, and Tuesday I covered the couch and corner with baking soda. And I mean covered. So yesterday I vacuumed that up, vacuumed the whole room to its last, dusty breath, and Febreezed every surface the cats had even looked at funny. I gave it a whiff today, and it was sooooooo much better. Hopefully that will last; one theory is that cats will continue "evacuating" wherever they smell leftover urine, or even ammonia from cleaning products. Perhaps finally getting those smells to go away will break the cycle.
Our theory for Mog's ongoing going-on problem (don't hit me) is that it's based on his being a nervous little wreck. Mog is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats....as long as you stay beyond arm's length. Make ny move towards him, and he bolts, or starts shaking, or looks at you with his big huge eyes that say "PLEASE DON'T EAT ME." We've tried pet-engineered sprays that are supposed to calm them down, and that worked for a little while. Mom's taken to putting a plastic sheet over the waterbed, which is the cats' favorite haunt, but that's not really preventive so much as clean-up aid. We try and keep their litterbox as clean as possible, there's more than one around the house, we don't yell or make a huge fuss when he does it so he thinks we're bad guys....so we're on our last ditch effort: Kitty Prozac. Started it Saturday. Cross your fingers for us?
When I was home today (for all of 5 minutes; woke up at Ryan's, Stephanie's at noon, grocery shopping, making it home and putting it all away and making a sandwich before work at 2....I was a little rushed), both the boys were in the living room, chilling. They haven't been lately, same as the rest of the household. This bodes well.
The dozen or so video cassettes that Mog drenched the last time are still out on the porch, as neither Mom or I have wanted to deal with them, yet. She keeps suggesting just tossing them without a second look, but I won't let her do it...yet. However, I'm going to suggest we pack all the movies up--both videos and DVDs, since they're both at risk, although the DVDs are a little safer--and store them somewhere safe and waterproof. Take a catbed and stick it in the TV stand where the tapes have been, or make one out of blankets and towels. Make it welcome, not...whatever it is that makes it so urine-inviting. I can hope, right?
...right?
Meanwhile, my calendars are a hit. XD People like them, and they're starting conversations! WOO!
Alright, that's enough of that for now. Ciao!
