(no subject)

I seem to have been semi-personally attacked.

I checked Norma's e-mail, there were some replies to the mass e-mail I sent out. Let me start off by saying that I was asked to do this because, among the people helping Norma on this project, I know computers the best, not that that says anything. I never advertised myself as being some kind of computer whiz. I have the best access to fast internet, and I know how to write and send an e-mail.

This was someone's reply:

Just to let you know this hit my "spam" mail which I deleted....then when Norma questioned me...found it. I wouldn't have opened it as I had no clue as to what the sender or the subject was.........it seems that should have been obvious from the get-go and feel Norma was done quite an injustice that someone with computer savvy wouldn't expect that reaction from most of the computer world....

Um...my first reaction...is to say...fuck you, bitch.

I did not set up the e-mail address, so I wasn't the one who put "Jarnoval Bay" as the sender name. And the title was "Open House at Jarnoval Bay", as I wasn't told what to put as the subject, and seemed that was appropriate, as it was an invitation to--gasp--an open house at Jarnoval Bay.

I did what I was told to do. The e-mail address already existed, with contacts and all kinds of things already set up, I was just asked to put in more e-mail addresses, and send out messages. Concerning e-mail, that was it. Period. Case closed. No one told me, or even hinted, that I was to somehow, magically, make the messages junk-filter proof. Oh, and by the way, I was told that 90% of the original list I was given? Were personal friends of Norma's. So I'm sorry they didn't know THE NAME OF HER BUSINESS.

I'm just getting very fed up with this project, and that's only started since I started helping with the technological side, which was Wednesday. That's when I started getting the many, many phone calls and voicemails, being all but blamed for the whole thing being impossible, hearing rants on how the internet is horrible and the e-mail thing is a total waste of time (it wasn't MY IDEA), and, now, being told I did Norma "quite an injustice" because I didn't prevent something that is basically unpreventable.

So, maybe I'm overreacting, but I don't care: screw you, lady. Please, trade places with me. I'm just a college student who took ONE MARKETING CLASS and was afterwards SUCKED INTO THIS WHOLE MESS because people thought that my ONE marketing class somehow made me an expert. So please, PLEASE, take my place, deal with the lovely but uber-ADDing daffy hippie lady, and create something magical and perfect from the most basic of instructions. HAVE FUN.

CAN I GET MY MONEY AND QUIT NOW PLEASE?

*deep breath in...deep breath out....*

Okay, I feel better.

Today was actually a really good day. Slept in with my boyfriend, and we spent the day together. Took a long (hot, sweaty, LONG) walk, had a nice early-afternoon cat nap, saw PotC3 (awesome, btw), did some quick shopping at Eastbrook, had dinner, and now here I am. Just a day to ourselves. It was lovely. :)

Got presents from Justin's mother: window art, earrings, and a really pretty set of windchimes. I think she REALLY wants me to stick around so she has a daughter ;). Also, bought myself a book on marketing with my gift card.

I think I'm going to go find something mindless to watch on TV while I install and start on Sims Life Stories. Lazy ending to a leisurely day. ^^
