But in the meantime - what a morning that was! The day got off to a rather unenthusiastic start; the kids are all sick, my brother is hungover and my Mum was pissed off because the baby brother won't sit five seconds without wanting to be picked up - so he has been screaming all morning (personally though, I think it may be distress at the John Virgo outfit he has been forced to wear). But the little bugger is alseep now, and so I've retreated to here in order to spare myself from having to tackle with those awful boxes of crap that people generally buy my girlie seven year old sister and which she is begging I open and assemble for her (hahahaha). And my brother has also started the Christmas Lunch, so not being anywhere within the vicinity of the kitchen for the next few hours is probably a wise, life-saving move - he is the most angry chef I have ever met, Gordan Ramsey is a lamb in comparison with him.
Anyway, now that the worst of the day is over and the finish line is firmly in sight, I think I'll go and enjoy some of my own haul recieved from numerous relatives this year. In fact, I didn't do all that badly; here's what I got
- Chocolate (yummy)
- Shit loads of candles (and I mean shit loads!!)
- The usual smelly stuff
- Clothes (all the right size for once - miracles will never cease)
- Perfume
- Books (only one of which I already have)
- Crystal
- Alarm clock (which doesn't glow or make any sound whatsoever - perfect)
- Fondue Set (I know what I'm gonna be eating once I get back in the country)
- And my Beginners Japanese book from my brother
So all in all not bad. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and kill the all-talking all-singing Tinky Winky.
