Bad news :(
*Sigh*
My mom called me at work this afternoon, crying. Apparently they got the tests back for Ted, and there's just nothing more they can do. His kidneys are failing at an alarming rate, and it would just be unfair to prolong his suffering any longer. So this afternoon he will be put to sleep. :*(
I feel so terrible, but I'm still at work, so I can't exactly show it. My mom is just so heartbroken, and I feel awful for her. She commented that his dishes are still on the floor, and she's worried how their other cat, Tony, is going to react. I know it sounds silly, but those two cats were together for 10 years (Ted was 14, Tony is 10), and they can definitely sense when the other is not there. Apparently Tony's been sleeping in the basket Ted always slept in since he's been at the vet's. She said my dad is taking it really badly, because Ted was pretty much his cat. Every day when he would come home from work, Ted would jump up and sit on his lap and sit there for hours. Wherever my dad was, Ted was.
It's always so hard to say goodbye to a pet. They are so patient and loving, and they never piss you off like a person can. I'm gonna miss him a lot. :(
