Now that everyone has buggered off and left uni, I can imagine it getting kind of slow at times. The thing that usually keeps me sane is knowing that I'm off out with people at the end of a day of work. None of that for me at the moment. I think the next weekend I'm allowed to take is for Cambridge, and the one after that (albeit a week) will be for Whitby. I did consider starting a new blog called the dissertation diaries with regular photo updates of how I'm going insane, but realised that this was another work avoidance technique. At the moment, I have about 9 weeks to finish. Which sounds long, but then again, when I consider what I have to get done, also sounds very short. I'm listening to my data hoping that I will find something wirth writing about, and that I'll manage to write it well. Have not had any luck so far, seem to be finding the same things other people have found, and am as yet at a loss for how to represent it any differently. Am off to the library for inspiration, but I have doubts and fears that follow me all over the place. And they do not fear the library. At the moment, the plan is to plod along. Tomorrow I'm starting on the rest of the data to analyse, so I'll see if anything there jumps out at me.
I've been watching a lot of films lately. Last night I saw V for Vendetta (a damn good film, scary in the premonition it gives about a society that I see as not too distant), G.I Jane (it was on the telly) and Pay it Forward (was on the telly afterwards - but also a damn good film, even if that kid grates at me just a little).
I want to see Shrek 3, Oceans 13, la vie en rose and the new Harry Potter film. I've been reading a lot in French after a wonderful shopping spree in fnac in Nantes, where I finally arrived after much chaos and expense.
I have realised that for the fisrt time in a good couple of years, I don't currently have any flights booked. For the next two months, I'm in England. It's relaxing, because travelling knocks me out. And it means I can renew my passport, and get a better photo.
I'm rambling, so I'm going to drink my hot water with lemon juice, go to the library and hope to find answers in the rows of looming, threatening books. Just because they know more than I do...
