II.
“Niwa.”
At the sound of the voice, Niwa immediately lost his appetite for that day. For two days now, he had noticed Shinomiya staring at Hide’s neck. To be more precise, he was staring at the marks on Hide’s neck and sneering at them. The looks he sent were of a boy who got robbed out of his favorite toy, from Niwa’s point of view, and that did not please Niwa.
And now, the Dorm Head actually had the gall to confront him. Fine then. The Academy Kaichou silently placed his spoon on the table and looked up to his new nemesis.
“Yes?” He tried his best not to growl the word.
“Is it true that you and Nakajima spent the entire night in the Student Council Office?”
Niwa was now officially convinced that Shinomiya is a man of iron steel. No one asked those kinds of question to him without looking away or blushing with nervousness. “Yes. We were busy doing paperwork all night,” he clarified. “Is there something wrong with that?”
“So my conclusions are correct…” Niwa raised an eyebrow at that. He was about to voice out another quirky reply to throw the other guy off, when surprisingly, Shinomiya grabbed both his hands. “Although I can’t help out since your office is beyond the boundaries of the school dormitory, I hope this helps. And next time, try not to stay too long in your office. It’s my responsibility to tuck all of the students in bed.” With that, the Dorm Head politely exited.
That left Niwa rather dumbfounded, slack-jawed, and blinking rapidly at Shinomiya’s retreating back. Unconsciously, Niwa’s gaze wondered on the thing that the other boy left. It didn’t take another second before it registered to his brain together with Shinomiya’s true intentions.
“You gotta be kidding me…”
I.
The issue started last Monday when Nakajima entered the school cafeteria with a frown on his face and a glare for the Niwa’s overly loud “Ohayou!” There was nothing odd about that. In fact, it was perfectly normal if only Shinomiya did not notice the red mark on Hide’s neck.
It was really tiny, the red mark, and was not really visible since it was almost covered by the school uniform’s collar. However, tiny as it was, Shinomiya found the situation rather alarming. He immediately concluded that there was a mosquito in the Vice President’s room and thus, went through drastic measures as to completely sanitize the whole room. Nakajima raised an eyebrow at that but did not say anything.
The issue was supposed to be dead already since Shinomiya was so sure he killed the mosquito. But two days after, the red mark grew larger and multiplied to three. The Dorm Head seriously considered fogging the whole dormitory now. Thankfully, Iwai was able restrain him, explaining that Nakajima spend the whole night in the Student Council Office so there was no reason to call the agency right now. Iwai also pointed out that they (Shinomiya and him) were busy, perhaps that was the reason why they never noticed the two SC officers arriving three in the morning the next day.
Of course Shinomiya, being the very image of a perfect Dorm Head he was, accepted the explanation. However, he did not settle down after that.
III.
“Hide~!” A pair of strong arms wrap around Nakajima’s waist as Niwa’s chin settled on his shoulder.
Nakajima immediately stopped overseeing their workload and turned his head to study him. “And what is that smug grin for?” Nakajima asked.
He grinned even wider and whispered lasciviously, “Shinomiya’s thoroughly convinced that the marks on your neck are from a mosquito.”
“You lie.”
He shook his head, rubbing his chin on his friend’s shoulder in the process. “I have evidence.” Without breaking the embrace, he fished out a small vial and handed it to Nakajima. Afterwards, he contented himself by feasting on the other’s neck, trailing soft kisses on the length of it, flicking out his tongue on the soft spot under his ear.
The Vice President tried to quietly read the inscriptions under the lemon flower sticker, NACHUU~RAL OIL (Lemon scented). Tried and tested to keep harmful insects away. Perfect for outdoors.
“… How very generous of him…”
“I know!” chirped Niwa. Nakajima watched as an unholy light flashed over those violet depths. “So, why don’t we test it and see if Mr. Mosquito will go away?”
“I doubt Mr. Mosquito will ever go away.” Without so much as a smirk, Nakajima roughly disengaged himself from the embrace and pushed Niwa to the President’s chair. He curled a fist on the other’s tie and as he leisurely drew close, until their foreheads touched. “But let’s try it anyway.”
