My mom just said to me "Amara, you're such a romantic" after I told her I was upset about something that's going to happen on Glee tonight (SOMEONE'S first kiss is not what I wanted it to be). At first I thought it was a weird comment because I HATE the romance genre in general. But I guess it's true...
The thing is I'm only interested in romance if I like the characters as individuals first. If I do then I'm all for the mushy gushy so long as it doesn't become their sole purpose in life.
I get more worked up about romance than I let on I guess.
