Randomly today:
I think I love this 1st grader's design for a NASA rocket. If only... (the comments at Whedonesque are good, too). It's the icon, people! Which I need to re-make when I get home, since I really don't get along well with Irfan.
My newsagents -- the one I support because they have Marvel comics and I can get Rogue and Whedon there! -- have rearranged some of their store. I went in this morning and I couldn't find any of the movie/SF magazines! I was quite distraught. Had they stopped stocking Empire? They don't have that many SF magazines, what if I'm the only one buying them -- this isn't a terribly large town! Minor panic ensued -- until I realised that they'd been moved over to by the computer magazines and New Scientist etc. Is this a stereotype or something? At least the comics are still in the "kids magazines" section (because it's not like there are adult themes or anything in modern comics and it's not like they've got ratings that say "not for kids!" and such other stuff).
We have bushfires in September but there's no such thing as global warming, really! It's gonna be a fun summer...
