the birthday party

Tristan enjoyed himself at Luke's birthday party yesterday.  I took lots of photos, and am now going to get them off my camera to send to Luke's mum.  Her camera was crapping itself, so I offered to take some.

During the week I'd tried to call her to sort out options regarding food.  I couldn't get through, so I left a message on their home phone.

My mum used to keep a 'Birthday Box' which was exactly that. Every time we had a friend with a birthday she used to pull it out of the closet and ask what I thought they would like, and I used to love rummaging around in it. for years I kept up the same habit of keeping a stash of stuff around fro presents just in case, but I gave it up somewhere along the way, possibly because peoples' tastes are too specific now, or change too rapidly. Not sure.

PS. I also remember loving Charlotte's Web as a child. I think I still have the book around somewhere.
