http://www.biologynews.net/archives/2008/06/11/woollymammoth_gene_study_changes_extinction_theory.html I don't exactly know why, but woolly mammoths have always fascinated me. I did a third grade science fair project on the idea of bringing them back to life using available DNA from preserved mammoths and inserting it in an elephant fetus a la Jurassic Park. Now that I've been learning for the past semester in my Molecular Ecology and Evolution class about reconstructing genetic population structures using various analyses, I want to know even more about the woolly mammoth research. I would love someday to be a part of a team that brought a woolly mammoth to life. Maybe they could use a writer, for grants and reports and such. That's it, there's my future right there!
