My Advent Calendar- Day One
I was going to make a pretty advent calendar for my apartment, but I made my budget for December first and realized that I didn't have any extra money to spend on luxuries like glitter and poster board. Instead, I'm doing a Tumblr Advent Calendar and a Livejournal Advent Calendar. For each day leading up until Christmas, I will post something Christmasy.
P.S. I will have to miss this Saturday since I will be in Paris with one of my teachers. She's invited me to go with her family for the weekend to see a special Monet exhibit!
A Walk Down Memory Lane
My first memories of Christmas are from when I was 3 1/2. At the time we were living in Visalia, CA, a city where we didn't stay very long. All I have are vague recollections of "Aunt" Susie and Nyssa coming over at some point. I received a beautiful blond doll who has had many names over the years, but I think she was usually called Katie. I think Santa gave her to me. I remember opening my presents from Aunt Susie in awe, thinking what an amazing coincidence (not that my three-year-old self knew that word) that she had given me a beautiful golden doll dress, just the right size for my new doll.
