OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This SHOULD have been one of the happiest days I have had in awhile. But it just isn't.
I must give a little backround here first.
Back on Jan. 3rd, I started working an overnight shift at my job. I had asked for a raise, and the big boss told me that he could not give me a raise in my current position (which was 4th or entry level management). But he told me that he could give me a little bit of a raise to go to the overnight shift. Well, that meant that I was no longer in management, but I was making more money. Sounds pretty screwed up? Huh?
Well, I had never received the raise. And yesterday was the first time since our last payday that I had a chance to see him. He told me that he thought the paperwork had already been filled out for that raise. When I told him no it hadn't, he assured me it would be ready for me to sign last night.
And when I went in to sign the paperwork, I found that it was not only for the raise, but was actually a promotion to 3rd level management. So now, In a business of around 225 employees, there are only 6 above me and 1 on the same level.
That should have been enough to have me dancing in the streets! But, as with everything else in my life lately, I immediately saw the bad.
When you have news like that, you just want to run home and share it with your loved ones. Well, my loved one is thousands of miles away and not coming back to me. And needless to say, the cat was not impressed by the news.
Such is my life lately. I finally get something that I have been working hard for. But it means nothing without her here sharing in it with me.
