Reading, reading, reading

I've spent the weekend reading a report (amongst other things) about Cultural Commons called Unbounded Freedoms. It's a fascinating read, although I will admit, it's the first time I've read a 'whole' document on-screen. There are so many ideas in this. Marketing or no marketing, technology is ALWAYS a controlling factor.

See, this is where I have a theoretical problem. Yes, technology can be controlling, but we can also accept or reject that. For every instance of a potential controlling point, we have choice. I choose to becom a digital entity, but not everyone is willing (or able) to make that choice. Having said that, sometimes the choice is taken away from us, someone else has chosen. But, there was still a choice made.
