It was easy to see the change in Leon’s demeanor. Gone was the hunched back, the bitter mutterings, the early morning snarls. The fiery temper was still there, but reined in; he was less likely now to let the little things get to him. This wasn’t to say he was totally changed. He was still a messy, inconsiderate, foul-mouthed slob, but he was happy.
And if Jill noticed that he turned down trips to the bars a little more often, or that he came to work more often than not smelling faintly of incense, she said nothing.
