So this is all about my new Salt water tank, if you think its super nerdy and retarded don't click it XD
So I've wanted a salt water tank ever since I was little, mostly because I thought the fish were pretty, and a part of me felt that there was some sort of mysteriousness about it all, strange things from the oceans, fish with different markings, colors, fins, crazy stuff, plants that moved every which way, and other things. My mom always refused because she felt I didn't know what I was doing and I wouldn't take care of it. I guess since Mark came along she figures at least someone know's wtf they are doing :P
I'm really excited and I want to add stuff, I think I'm going to rearrange the rock and add more, but I like it so far. The tank is really quiet and sleek, its a 29g BioCube if anyone cares XD
I'm ganna have kind of a photo diary of my progress. First problem I ran into a few days ago: The tank was making a weird slurping noise, like there wasn't enough water in the pump. After looking at it I realized the water was overflowing the top rim of the pump chamber. So Mark suggested that I use this putty to make the wall higher. Which I did, and then the tank overflowed...after I took out almost a gallon of water. WTF, I have no idea how it didn't overflow with full water and then it did with less.
We then read on some forums that we should level the tank, which was 29 gallons, 7 pounds of rock, and 20 pounds of sand. Not lifting that >_>
Found out all it was was the damn filter, it was just not letting enough water go through. Solution? Move the filter over. Thats it. Just moved it over a bit, problem solved. !@#$!%.
Things are going smoothly now, and I can't wait to start adding things!
