I am pleased to report that I am now on HOLIDAY!
This makes me very happy. As does the secret santaing I did today. But first...
Yesterday was fun. Well, fun for a school trip. In the Trocadero, there is not much to amuse, so Jamie and I spent our day sitting in a Turkish coffee shop, smoking a shi-sha and drinking mint tea, while the little boys and girls amused themselves. We got found once, thankfully not smoking, when they were threatened with being thrown out. The security wallah thought they were bunking, so I had to go and explain that they were allowed to be there. Upon which he asked me how old I was. Amused? You could have scraped me off the floor.
This morning I had to stand in front of the whole school and read from the Bible, with a fairly hefty hangover: product of binge drinking last night with various and sundry.
This afternoon was secret santa in the department. I bought a bright orange squid that goes in the bath, and shoots around and does all kinds of crazy shit. The department was nearly in tears at it, so I feel my job as morale officer has been well discharged now.
