See.

See Yami.

See Yami make an ass out of herself. Again.

Twice. In one post.

The first is the obvious:

AND YOU ALSO ABUSED BASIC GRAMMAR.Lol. Just lol. My head is loling on the ground. Yami needs to get new eyes, methinks. And a new brain. And some humility ( Read more... )

Actually, that's the third time I have had to correct Yami's punctuation. She keeps posting yelling at people for doing something wrong, then does the same thing wrong just differently.

I've also explained it to her at least once in a review I gave her fic. So not only is she a hypocrite, she's also ignoring whatever people are explaining to her.

She shouldn't be yelling at people if she can't do it right herself.

By the way, have you considered letting someone you trust log in under your name and post the review? I know it would require some trust, but the forum has been working - albeit infrequently - for some of us, so it might be worth a shot if you really want to see it posted. ^^

And here I thought my opinion of her couldn't sink any lower. Considering she has actually shown intelligence once in a while, I would've thought she'd be smart enough to correct mistakes once they've been explained to her.

Obviously not. Obviously the only parts of reviews worth reading are the parts that she can ... ahem ... 'explain'.

And I envy your patience, if you've reviewed/corrected her more than once. XD

Actually, I already thought of that. ^^; Unfortunately, it seems the errors are pretty random--there's no telling which threads/posts they'll screw up--but once they've struck they stay, no matter where you log in. I tried on my laptop; on my dad's computer; I asked someone else on the other side of the world to log in and post for me. So apparently the errors are not only random, they latch onto people's accounts too.

I really, REALLY hope they get it fixed soon. Now it's struck the Beta House so I can't update it, and when I asked Psych to do it for me it wouldn't let her either.

The worst part is that I had to do it in other people's threads, because she was 'teaching' them the wrong thing. That's also the only reason why I've continuously corrected her, because her bad writing skills are being used as an example of what to do and I can't have that.

About the forum: That's really a pity. That server move was disastrous. I haven't had as many problems with it since I joined, which is saying a lot since I use it almost daily. Crappy, crappy forum, it is.

I hope you'll be able to post it soon enough, hun.

*nodnod* Yeah, I know what you mean. It wouldn't be so bad if she'd just admit she's wrong and use the corrections in the future, but she doesn't. Of course, considering her attitude on reviews given for her own stories, she's probably not bothering to read the other reviews given to the stories she's reviewing.

I'm fine with her messing up her own writing, but when her fucked up writing is being used to teach someone else what to do, then that's where I draw the line. She can be a fuck-up herself all she wants, but I'd rather she didn't urge others to do the same. (Basically, if she didn't know what she was talking about, she shouldn't have mentioned it.)

Good luck getting the forum to work, hun, and I'd love to see the response you wrote. :)

Wow, ouch. I was going to suggest the same thing as Silawen, but so much for that. I hope it's fixed soon, but I don't have the highest of faith in the board admins, I fear.

Yeah, so far I don't even know if they're doing anything about it.

Ooh, I know! You can still post some places, right? Well, if you can post the review anywhere at all, you can do that, then as Psychic to move it into the right thread for you. I'm assuming that Serebii mods have the power to move threads, although it would probably be a good idea to stick it somewhere in the fanfiction section, since I don't know how far a mod+'s powers go. In any case, you could put it under a spoiler tag that Psychic could edit out for you when she moved it, or you could just edit a previous post of yours to include the review, then have psychic copy it into Yami's thread.

I mean, as long as Psychic's okay with doing that for you. But if she's not having any problems posting, that ought to at least get the review into the thread.

:O That sounds like it could work!

I know SPPf mods can move threads, so I'd assume that individual posts wouldn't be much different ... I'd prolly feel safer editing a previous post, but then she'd still have to create a post in Yami's thread for the text, and I'm not sure if that's possible.

Either way, I shall ask her. =D Thanks!

I meant move posts, whoops. But she shouldn't have to make a post in Yami's thread... she should be able to just use "Copy Post," then "Copy Post to Existing Thread." The only problem with that is that posts are inserted in chronological order, so you'd need to specifically select a post for edit that was created sometime after the most recent post in Yami's thread (11/11) so that it would properly splice in as last. Also, I'm not sure whether the copied post would bump the thread or not. But yeah, good luck!

... You are never going to believe this.

I tried posting in the Beta House for Psych to move it over to Yami's thread. And it errored on me. Even though I have just posted in the fucking Beta House literally less than 30 seconds ago, it would not let me post my reply to Yami.

I can only think it's something in the text, but then I tried to post without any bold/ital tags etc and it still wouldn't let me.

I'm at my wit's end. Why this text? And not in any thread? What, is it because there are spelling 'errors' in it or something? Which it can't be, since the post I just posted had a spelling 'error' in it.

... gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Might be too long. vBulletin no likey long posts.

You could edit small sections of it into multiple posts, have Psychic copy all of them over, then merge them once they'd been moved?

Try posting, say, a half or a third of what you had originally wanted to type.

*shakes head* It's not long regarding the character count, but we thought of that; I tried posting it in sections and it still wouldn't take it.

Damn forums.

Thanks anyway, though.

Dang. That's really ridiculous.

About the only option left now is putting it in a Google doc and then posting in the thread with a link and something like, "Forums, won't let me post this here, but..."

If that would even work.

Yes. Yes it is.

I think I see what you're saying ... but I'd have no idea how to just put into a blank page like that ... or Google document ... or whatever it is. XD

Too bad I can't just link it to an LJ post, but that's just begging for trouble.

Do you have a Google account (like for Gmail or whatever)? If so, you can go to Google, then from the top select More -> Documents. You can then upload documents or write directly into the program, which will host them for you. You should be able to just link to them from there. If you can't get it to work, you can give the text to me and I'll use my account... the link doesn't give any indication of the account it was made with.
