Among the things that as a quasi-adult I should probably have learned by now:
1. Wearing adorable underwear will pretty much ensure that no one's going to see them.
2. Getting your hopes up is a good way to ensure that your plans are going to be thrown out the window and replaced by "well I guess I'll sit around the house and do homework instead." (This weekend and spring break. Fuck.)
3. Asking for more work will always be effective.
4. Asking for less work never will.
5. The more shit you have going on in your personal life, the more hell-bent your professors and bosses will be to destroy it.
6. No one wants to hire you, not because they don't want to employ you, but because they can't afford to.
7. Your weekend job will always be scheduled on top of that colloquium you really want to go to. Always.
