And this - They’re taking care of Dean together, Sam and the Impala. If Dean can’t or won’t listen to Sam, then the old girl will just force him to. Because she loves him and doesn’t want him to hurt himself and probably also because she doesn’t like the idea of ending up wrapped around a tree. Because the Impala doesn't get nearly the amount of credit that she should.
The descriptions of Dean's dreams, what is/isn't happening and Sam's interpretations of what he sees were great. I love that Dean wakes up and is comforted by the smell of "cold sweat and motel soap and wet puppy and it feels like home."

Dean is comforted by the strangest things. I figured he's probably more used to that smell than anything else and he clings to anything that might mean home to him...
Thanks for the awesome prompt. I'm off to read your fill now.

And thank you even more for the road trip idea. I love Dean/Impala fic. She is always around, taking care of these boys and nobody ever gives her enough credit.
You have no idea how hard it was to squeeze the schmoop in there. I had everything written and then realized that I had one hour left to make it even halfway cuddly and hopeful *has an angst brain*

I think whenever I have to write something halfway schmoopy or fluffy, my brain goes to Dean snuggling up to his Sammy when he's sick or weak or something and actually can enjoy it instead of hiding behind all his snark.
