I could....you're right. I've been wanting to do a de-aged!John fic for some time, but somehow the plot bunny doesn't do anything other than jumping up and down, yelling 'de-aged!John, de-ages!John' and that's not enough plot to build a BB around ;)

I have to say, I live the second prompt because then you get missing Sam tension plus the opposite of the "dean stops talking" fics for Stanford era, which would completely change the dynamic because John doesn't get 100% soldier Dean.

As for new prompts- I've never seen anything that covers why John "goes missing" in season one. Maybe something about his thought process, or it's a curse, or Gabriel shows up and explains things...

Heh, I hadn't even made the connection with the Dean-stops-talking fics....and I LOVE that connection! *hugs*

I think reapertownusa is doing just that for her john_w_BB and I've read enough of her outline that I can't even imagine a different scenario.

Ohhh, darling. Sucks when one has to decide between two awesome prompts like this!!

I'd go with the second one, though...definitely need more Dean and John interaction!! Maybe tell some of it (or most) from John's POV?

Heh, I only really realized how awesome both those scenarios are while I was typing them up xD

And I was going to tell the entire thing from John's POV. Because I *like* his POV and it will probably make it easier to pretend I'm not just writing this for the Dean torture ^^

Hmmm, they're both fiiiiiine, but I'd go with the second idea. IF you feel you got enough time to start anew and flesh that one out properly. If not, if you'd only stress yourself out with that, stick to your first idea. This fandom is bound to come up with a good amount of Done Before. ;)

Going with the second one seems to be the consensus. The fleshing out isn't really a problem. It's very much a mulitchapter fic with a fairly easy solution. I just gotta sit down and write and not be distracted by RL for a couple of days....
