I hear you! :) I've missed my sister's stuffing SO much. I haven't been home for Thanksgiving since before I moved to California. (in'96) So needless to say I'm so happy about this. My sweet potato casserole I make (my sister's recipe) is the closest thing to "home" I've had all these years.
YOU, hang in there..the worst of the moving part is ALMOST over... xoxoxoxoxo, ~L
I'm so happy that it is going to happen. :) I talked to them today and Maggie (the youngest-5 yo) asked me when she was going to see me again... ohh, was it hard to maintain a poker mouth. : D
This made me smile...it also made me feel lucky that my family is here close with me. But more so, it made me actually *appreciate* it and want to do something special this year.
Every year I have almost a scrooge attitude towards the thought of having family get togethers. They're so disfunctional that it makes me nervous.
I used to feel that way too when I lived closer to my (then much larger) family, but I think the fact that we have lost so many family members, has made our remaining circle much closer and thankful for our little remaining tribe.
Hey, what family doesn't have dysfunction in their functions? (smile) xo
An extra day and a surprose visit, togetherness over turkey-i'm thankful for this for you! really wonderful news-i'm forgetting if your thanksgiving is this w/e or next. xoxox
I'm so happy about this Tracey. E and have have had our first two "together" Thanksgivings here in PA and now it's time to be more engaged with my family. Nine hours o'driving sucks, but it's sooo very worth it. Our Thanksgiving is in November..(23rd this year i think) Canada's is always earlier, but i can never remember how much?? I talked to the girls today and it was SO hard not to say anything... xoxoxoxoxoxo
