an actual shanahan senior

Jun 10, 2008 15:47

and so with a mass and continuation of a tradition, I am no longer a junior in high school. I do not associate the rank of senior with myself. I don't like to. I don't want to be a senior. Funny how - although it's not, I find it rather devastating - sometimes when I think of this summer and my college future everything seems fine, and possible .. but other times it seems overwhelming and headed for failure. I don't know what I want to do with myself and my life, I feel like I'm just settling. but isn't that what we all do ..

this summer is probably going to suck. no, I take that back, it definitely will. there's so much work to be done and no, I do not have confidence in myself that I'll get it done efficiently. but if I even want to try, I need a checklist of everything that needs to be done this summer.

[_] summer reading - night, kite runner, and missing heaven
[_] ap enviro reading, and work
[_] ap art work
[_] work
[_] permit/car/learn
[_] scholarships .. and lots of them
[_] visiting colleges
[_] finding a college of choice
[_] college essay
[_] think of halloween idea for school
[_] if ap art isn't enough, develop my portfolio
[_] visit kristen in spokane via my first ever plane flight
[_] visit joey in ohio
[_] get a new tablet asap
[_] change my way of life
[_] actually study for my last SAT
[_] grow emotionally, physically, spiritually, socially, and intellectually mature in order to be considered an actual shanahan senior

and I pull your blankets ever closer, so that I may fill my aching lungs with you

resolutions, college
