The ruby wedding went really well. The anniversary was on Easter Sunday. The week running up to it, the kids were on their holidays and on their way to Bristol they dropped me off in Cov, where I had a fantastic week socialising lots and helping Stuart and Leigha make wedding decorations. They look super awesome, and I really feel like I helped, because Leigha seemed to be getting overwhelmed by it all.
I also had the privilege of being one of the first guests at Mischa's new house. It's an awesome place. It's like she's moved into a better fit. I'm sure she will be very happy there for many years to come, and I also look forward to staying in her spare room, which I believe not has a complete bed. We had fun exploring the secret den and building flat-packed furniture. And I got to spend a day with Elaine, a day with Mischa out and about in Cov, and a day out in Brum with Angela, Leigha, Stuart and Mischa. I also managed a whole day alone just smooching. It's funny, how when you spend a lot of time alone you end up needing the solitude! We also tried to go to the fayre but I was sick - which is so bizarre and has never happened to me before. I'm normally the one dragging everyone else onto the white knuckle rides!
I got picked up by Mum, which I felt a little guilty about, as there was a coach and I could have saved her a lot of driving... but for once I decided to do the selfish thing. We had a really lovely lunch at The Almanack in Kenilworth with Mischa and Leigha.
Back in Bristol, everything was geared around Easter, though with more of a special meal and fuss over the meal. On Monday they had a drop-in party for friends from the local area - the choir, GIFF, the neighbours, etc. It was in full flow when we left.
4 days of school and my mental health group thing... I was the only person in attendance, so it was more like 1-2-1, except there were 2 of them. We got through all the material, I didn't feel like I was hogging the time, we were able to spend time on tailoring the skills to me personally. We also had time for my 6-month review, which was really short. (Today I started the programme over again)
Back in Bristol, I thought Mum and Dad were going to be renewing their wedding vows. Instead it was a mass with a bit extra, blessing them. Uncle John officiated. My mum came, as well as all their siblings and partners bar Aunty Sylvia and Uncle Martin, and Tom came as well. After the mass there was a meal in the function room of The Ship, which they had decorated beautifully, and the food was mostly really good - though I was sick the next day - I don't think blue cheese agrees with me! The family all came back to the house, and it was really nice to see everyone and catch up.
After that my mum came home with us. We went to Stanza, Pem Pens, had a day out in Chorley and surrounding countryside, a meal out and then went to see and awesome, side-splitting show, The Complete Works of Shakespeare in 93 minutes, which included an all-in-one comedy medley, the histories performed as a rugby match with the crown as the ball (King Lear got sent off for being a fictional character) and an incredibly gruesome cooking show. Not to mention Ophelia's layers. And finally we spent a day in Manchester, as Simon had a Viola masterclass at the Royal Northern College of Music, so I took my mum to Curry Mile, and after Simon's performance we went to meet up with Jordan. I also performed my show for her and Sophia made paella.
