[Out on one of her usual walks through the forest, Rena caught sight of a woman climbing down a tree. This person was new, given her clothes. Rena quickly went over to the miko to see if she needed assistance.]

Um, miss...? Did you need any help?

[Kikyou hears her just as her feet are touching the ground. She turns around. Sorry, Rena, business first.]

Can you tell me where this place is?

[Rena was relieved enough that Kikyou made it safely down the tree, but then she worried again. She tried to answer her question to the best of her abilities.]

This place is called Luceti... but I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what planet it's on. I don't think anyone knows the answer to that besides the ones who brought us here.

[Rena was never sure how to break the news to someone about the nature of Luceti, but at least Kikyou seemed calm about the situation. After her response, it did make Rena relax more.]

For about seven months. Some others have been here longer, such as over a year or two. But people here come and go, and some return, although that part is not for us to decide.

That's right. The ones who brought us here are scientists who call themselves the Malnosso.

We're not in the best position here either since it's hard sometimes to determine what is going to happen. We can usually estimate when the experiments the scientists run will take place, but the effects are always something unexpected.

You mean the experiments? I remember one where those affected fell in love with whoever they spoke to first, despite who they really did love. Another was that others could see any thoughts you might've had.
