I just finished the paper!
I just finished the paper...
Well, only kind of, sort of, not really at all. My fellow Hellenist, miraclelegion informed me yesterday that we are to begin the paper with a translation of a passage. Then we are to comment on the history and language of the passage, as well as our translation. Unfortunately, I only received the message today, when I looked at his LJ just in case the comments weren't being sent to me for some reason or another. When I saw this, I became worried. "Translation?!?!" I screamed to myself. Fortunately, this will fill the rest of the pages I was worried about having to pull out of my ass. I know the text very well, and will have no trouble translating it.
So, everything except for my translation and my explanation of the translation is done. I have a thoroughly researched history, description of Atticism (how the literati of the time talked) and Lucian's Atticism, and some bits on koine just ready to be spit out in paper form. Unfortunately, I'm not sure yet on how much I should translate... and, well... I just don't have the heart to do it tonight. I can easily finish it tomorrow before 6 and write the rest of the paper after 6.
That's a good thing. I was expecting to be writing this puppy until Tuesday morning.
