A) PHONECALL: To everyone
[For those who have had contact with him, Tieria is usually a pretty abrasive person, speaking with a constant tone of authority to his voice. But today, there's definitely something softer and uncertain about his words, and he almost sounds like another person.]... I was told that today is a day to celebrate mothers.

What do you want? [You might find that decidedly masculine voice a little familiar, Souji.]

...Having fun there? [ His voice sounds familiar too, Tieria! ]

[He frowns in thought, because yes, that voice is incredibly familiar but he can't put his finger on it. If only he didn't have this disgustingly flawed body, then maybe he could properly match up the voice with one he knew.]
We have spoken before. How do I know you?

Megane-chan.

[Despite relaxing just the smallest bit, he still checks Souji over for weapons; considering their last conversation, he has every reason to believe the other is armed.]
If you require assistance from me, I'm currently occupied.

Actually it's the other way around. Do you need help?
[ Strange, he's getting this same cold-shoulder feeling whenever he talks to Rin Tohsaka. ]

But it's worth it to have a boot knife on hand.]
I don't- [He stops, and kind of peers down at the mess he's making of the garden. This is so not his forte, and no matter how much material he reads about it, it doesn't make sense. But it's for his mother, so he should be willing to swallow a little of his pride if it means making her happy. EVERYTHING IS FOR MOTHER.]
... Only if you're familiar with this sort of thing. If not, you'll just get in my way.

He squats down beside Tieria, just looking at one of the potted plants before digging one of the holes wider, setting forth to the task that Tieria started. ]

[He watches Souji's movements carefully, both wary for any sign of attack and also curious about what he's doing. Making a bigger hole doesn't really seem to impress him.]
Why did you do that? The hole was the recommended size as indicated in the majority of the books. [As accusatory as the statement might be, he's not really angry, but puzzled. Souji was going contrary to his data, yes, but it was with a confidence that made Tieria second guess who was in the wrong.]

[ Suddenly Souji handles the hand-shovel in a very threatening manner and pierces the dirt, letting all the loose garden soil pile in the bottom of the hole. His hands sink into the dirt and it looks like he's massaging it of all things, but one of his hands surface with a rock and he tosses it harmlessly to the side. ]
[ He otherwise ignores Tieria's question. ]
Pull one of the plants out carefully from its pot, roots and all.

Don't ignore me when I ask you a question. Explain why you had to remove that stupid rock. [Regardless, he still follows the instructions, wrapping his hand around the stems of one of the flowers and trying to wriggle it out of its pot without breaking the roots. He's a little too rough, still a little jumpy from before and clearly not used to handling such delicate things.]
Reply
[ He rummages around in the dirt, loosening it up and fishing out a few more small rocks. ]
Carefully unclump the dirt around the roots.

[He looks at the unpotted plant he's holding, moving it to one hand so that the other can brush through the roots and work the dirt out. Based on his expression, he clearly thinks this task is even stupider than removing rocks.]
What is the point of this? It's just going back in the dirt; cleaning it off is a waste of time.
Reply
When you're finished clearing the dirt from the roots we can plant it without nutrient-tapped dirt clumped onto the roots.

You should have just told me that in the first place. Is this acceptable? [The plant he was working with has one or two bent leaves from being handled roughly, but as ordered, he's done a decent job of cleaning up the roots.]
