Modly business - a few changes, mini-event and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting.
BEFORE I EVEN GET STARTED- JUST, FYI the second link is some really confusing TL;DR. It might be easier for some players to skip that part and read the quick explanation then go back to the long detailed crap, if they're confused. I wrote it two different ways because I know some people will process one easier than the other.

2)Is the freeze going to be totally out of nowhere, or is it possible characters will start to realize this is coming over the next two days, and can start to plan for the worst? Perhaps a slightly colder day Friday?
3)For White Day and Valentine's Day, does one have to be a canonmate and one a former Purg character, or can both be one or the other? >_> I saw you touched upon if you have characters who have been both, but I really don't. Also, Zidane doesn't even really know any former Purg characters, except maybe Lelouch, but even then, not very well at all, and I'd certainly still love to have him interact for both events if possible.
4)...I thought I would have a question regarding the new activity checks but I really... don't. While I'm making a list anyways though, I do want to note that I think the new activity check sounds like a really awesome idea. I've tried to more recently come up with excuses for my own character to interact as I honestly found the huge amounts of posts without comments slightly saddening. I'm certainly looking forward to this change.
Uh... Sorry if that was a awkward semi-long list of questions. I hope it wasn't too annoying and I just wanted to touch on anything swimming around in my head.

1. Thank you. I can't believe I didn't notice ... the lack of an end date, there. I'll blame the all nighter I pulled on my missing such a ridiculous detail. It's a week. Friday - Friday, as with most events in Purg (unless announced otherwise.) This was totally me being mysterious and not telling anyone. It was done intentionally. Right. ... Sure.
2. The temperature itself dropping will happen over night. At midnight on Friday the temperature will drop to below freezing. Bodies of water, depending on depth and other circumstance might take longer to freeze completely (i.e. the river.) If you want VERY SPECIFIC DETAILS, probably total freeze by Sunday night (you'll have to heat water, if you want it), Monday morning - and start to thaw Thursday. Back to normal temperatures (which, since it's winter isn't much higher than freezing anyway), by sunrise on Saturday.
3. Sorry, no. One has to be Purg, and one has to be canon mate. New characters kind of get the short end of this stick, but it seems like the most fair option as newer characters don't know anyone in Purg to get a letter from in the first place, and no one can say "How come Zidane can pick two canonmates and I can't?" You do have the ability to have an anonymous letter sent in the stead of a Purg member, because if it's anonymous and vague enough you can't prove or disprove who it came from.
4. Thanks. I hope it works out as well in practice as it seems it might, in theory.
Stop being awkward and annoying new guy, we don't take that crap here. Seriously though, I don't mind questions. I love questions, because I will get into such full detail about something, I will leave something else out entirely. I know this happens, I know I forget things - so I've always encouraged members to poke me about things that need explaining/reminding.
Really, I think I'm the most question friendly mod. I like them.
