The sky was false here, but it carried him just the same. His wings cut through the air just as they always had, and he felt feather-light as he soared over Purgatorium en route to his destination. A clock tower not unalike the kinds he had both seen and read about during his life back with Sakura, but this remnant was aged, ruined, and falling apart.

...Withering, one might say, like this very city itself, no matter the efforts these people put towards salvaging the remains.

He wished not to think of it, but thinking of things in light these days was difficult. Even with his magic returned to him, it was but a solid reminder that this moon, that which brilliantly shone above him, which was but a pale reflection of what he knew, was not his to govern.

With a sigh, the clock tower came into view. Cobalt eyes settled upon its great height, and scanning the alcoves that lead upwards towards the peak... Yue's eyes caught sight of a well-kept man seemingly leaning towards the light of that false moon.

Endrance... he thought. It ( ... )

An unexpected breeze swept his fringe back, and Endrance opened his eyes, reaching up to make certain he did not lose his hat. His hand froze mid-motion, stopping at his eyes as if to protect them. Instinctively, he cringed just a bit. There was something...out there. It was flying toward him.

Impossible to see what it was as the moonlight showed only a dark, winged silhouette. A Lady Guard? Did they fly so high as this? He had never seen one do so before. But Endrance was uncertain, and felt it was best to be prepared.

Drawing his sword, he reached back to steady himself against the crumbling mortar of the building. This would certainly be an...interesting battle.

That glint of steel did not go unmissed. Yue's reaction to it was as instinctive as Endrance's had been to his silhouette.

He was, after all, a creature that was born to defend, and in all respects he knew as well how to defend himself, not just others.

Light spread between his hands, bold and blue, illuminating his face for a moment, the perfect hue to stand out against the night, to repel shadow. The light formed, guided by delicate white fingers, and took on the shape of a lengthy bow and an arrow. The bow was readied, the arrow nocked. And he drifted nearer the tower, circling the male below with his form in clear view.

Would he attack? If so... Yue would defend. Was this Endrance? If not... he worried for the safety of the other. And also wondered if this were some trap that he had been lured into.

A burst of magical light illuminated a face with features so lovely--and somehow familiar--Endrance's lips parted in wonder. If the Tempting Rose had not been part of his own body, he might have dropped it as his arm fell to his side. He lifted his face, neck craning for a better view.

Wings. That doll had...wings.

"Who...?" He took a step forward along the narrow ledge, not looking where he placed his feet, his eyes riveted on the circling figure above. "...what are you?"

Before he could get an answer, the ledge crumbled under his boot, throwing him off-balance suddenly. If he had been paying attention, Endrance might have caught himself. He could muster hardly more than a gasp as he toppled off the edge into thin air.

His wide eyes were glued to the image of the angelic figure above as he plummeted toward the ground.

It was a moment of decision where hesitation could cost a life. Yue, of course, took no time at all to make up his mind, did not hesitate. The light in arms faded, the bow and arrow disappearing, and he dived... his wings propelling him at a great speed towards the plummeting figure.

How foolish! Standing so carelessly on a ruined edge! Paying no heed to the surroundings...

He outstretched a hand, feeling both desperate and irritated. It was his own promise though. Friend or foe... where there was need, he would rise to the occasion and not allow harm to befall any creature.

That was no way to repent, after all.

He caught hold of a hand... and with surprising strength for someone so thin, Yue wrenched the other into his arms, close to himself, and took to the earth for a graceful, soft landing...

Endrance seemed to fall for a very long time. He waited for his life to flash before his eyes, but nothing like that occurred. The brass points at the ends of his braids did shine strikingly in the moonlight as he fell, however, his long hair flowing up and past his face. It was almost mesmerising ( ... )
