Summary: Zack goes to visit Rikku and take her some pie.

Said girl was quite literally up to her elbows in machina. In order to distract herself from one-eyed ninjas and blonde-haired boys, Rikku had gone picking around the junk yard and had come across a lovely piece of machina. Well, she thought it was lovely, anyway. In reality, it was a crushed-up excuse for what used to be some sort of vehicle (maybe a jeep), and would likely never run again. But a little thing like that wasn't about to stop her from working on it anyway.

So when she heard the call she'd been waiting for, she was bent over the engine, trying to connect two cables that were too short to actually reach each other. Hearing Zack's voice, she gave a delighted squee that quickly morphed into an Al Bhed curse as she straightened without thinking and knocked her head on the hood of the car. She winced, taking a step back and holding the back of her head with her non-grease-covered hand. "... Owwie," she mumbled, her pout turning into a smile as she turned to face him. "Hey there!"

Zack made his way further into the garage at the sound of Rikku's voice, pausing a few feet away from her and offering her one of his habitual grins. "Hey!" He answered brightly, head tilted slightly as he watched her. When she had hit her head--that sounded to him like it would hurt. "You all right?" He couldn't help but ask then.

"Yea.. just a little sore," she laughed, a bit sheepishly. Spying the pie in his hands, she almost instantly forgot her not-quite-injury and practically leapt towards him, barely managing to regain her balance after slipping on a spare wrench. The blonde girl made a mental note to put that away later.

"You've got pie," she stated, pointing out the obvious with sparkling eyes. There was a smudge of grease across her face, but she paid it no mind, her swirled green eyes fixated on the pastry.

Zack couldn’t help but laugh at Rikku, thinking to himself that he could definitely appreciate a person who could so appreciate… well, pie. (Because pie, he thought, made the world a better place. Or any sort of sweet food, really.)

“I do,” he answered brightly, holding the box that contained the pie out to her in the next moment. “Chocolate peanut butter, too. And it’s all yours.”
