Michel's approach was heralded by heavy footfalls rolling down the stairs at a breakneck pace. As he closed in on the bottom, finally sighting Tieria, He veered towards the edge of the stairwell, making a running leap off the side.

The sniper landed in a roll, clutching the bullpup automatic rifle he was carrying to his chest. Without missing a beat, Michel was on his feet and closing the distance between himself and the meister, trading his weapon for a shoulder-slung first-aid kit.

"Deculture... What the HELL got to you?!"

Tieria looked up, blinking a little at the dramatic entry. He managed to chuckle a little, and then wished he hadn't, clutching his shoulder in pain.

"Something... with a pyramid helmet... stupid... was distracted..."

He tried to calm his mind, willing his system not to go into shock. He took a few deep breaths, closing his eyes.

"It needs... pressure on the wound... probably got the axillary artery..." He mentally winced at how he sounded - his voice didn't sound nearly as composed as it usually did, and it was wavering.

Michel shook his head and pulled a knife from his belt, using it to carve away the shredded clothing around Tieria's wound.

"I think it just barely missed the artery, otherwise we probably wouldn't be having this conversation."

Pressing one end of the heavy linen bandage over the top of the bleeding shoulder, Michel gave it one quick wrap around before cinching the loop painfully tight- giving more regard to stopping blood loss than any semblance of comfort.

"You still got your arm fucked up good though. Here, hold down as hard as you can with your good hand while I wrap this better." Michel said, nodding towards the already red-soaked bandage.

"Ah... good point." Tieria opened his eyes and tried to focus, putting pressure on the bandage to hold it in place.

He tried not to think about how much blood he had lost already. Enough to make him woozy, but he hadn't quite passed out, so that was a good sign. He kept his mouth shut, watching Michel quietly.

After he was satisfied with the coverage of Tieria's wound, Michel pressed the roll into his good hand as he took the knife to the rest of the ruined shirt, cutting it away completely.

"You alright? If you're starting to feel tired, keep talking to me. This would be a bad time to black out on me."

Tieria shivered, feeling very exposed without a shirt on, and took a deep breath. "Correct. Blacking out right now would not be wise. I should..."

He wavered for a moment, and attempted to steady himself. "I sh..." He closed his eyes, and then opened them again. "I am uncertain if I will be able to walk in this state, at least without assistance."

Michel gave a humorless laugh as he took the roll of bandages and began winding them around Tieria's torso.

"Yeah, I wouldn't let you walk if you wanted too anyway. I should be able to carry you up the stairs without too much trouble, at least. And if not, we'll head back down and to the Devil's Nest, and I'll go get someone from the clinic."

"Right." Tieria blinked a little at the bandages on his torso - he didn't look that bad, did he? "Very well, then. That sounds like it would be a wise course of action."

He still bristled a bit at the idea of someone carrying him, but there seemed to be very few other options.

"There, done." Michel finally tied off the bandage- it was tight around Tieria's chest, but not restrictively so, unlike the wrapping on his wounded arm.

"Now, let's see if you can stand up. You shouldn't be too much trouble for me to do a fireman carry. Michel offered Tieria a hand, smiling as for once, he was thankful for his friend's waifish build.

Tieria pulled himself up with Michel's assistance, and wobbled a bit, so he grabbed onto the other's upper arm, looking a bit pale.

"What... is a 'fireman carry'?"

"I'll carry you on my back. Probably best to not hold you by the arms, so I'll hold your legs, and you can hold my shoulder with your good arm."

Michel turned his back to Tieria and dropped to one knee, motioning for him to approach.

"stand over me with your feet apart so I can hook my arms under your knees, and we'll get on our way home."

Tieria nodded, and did as instructed, feeling slightly awkward at the stance. He was starting to feel very tired, and closed his eyes for a moment, before forcing them open again.

"I should not fall asleep yet... that would be unwise..." He mumbled.

Michel wrapped his arms around Tieria's legs and pushed his back up beneath the Meister, lifting him off the ground.

"Ok. let me know when you're comfortable. And while we're walking, you can give me a rundown of what happened. It'll be as good a topic as any to keep you thinking until we get help."

Tieria shifted a bit, and grabbed onto Michel's shoulder. "I believe I am as comfortable as I am going to get." The fact that he was at an odd angle didn't bother him, since he was designed for life in space.

"... I couldn't sleep. I decided to go patrol, and I encountered it. I assumed it to be an ordinary monster, so I shot at it, which is when it chased me. It... backed me into a corner, and stabbed my shoulder. I managed to duck underneath its knife and escape, and post on a terminal."

Michel nodded as he began the climb back to the upper level, hunched forward to keep as much of Tieria's weight ahead of his stride as possible. With each step, he reminded himself this would be a poor time to slip and fall.

"Well, let's hope it doesn't manage to find us again before we get home..."

Tieria sighed. "I am unsure as to if he can climb stairs. With that head I would expect not, but he surprised me with how quickly he could move before..."

He took a deep breath. "I... apologize. It was... unwise of me to go off alone..."
