Summary: To celebrate the start of the summer and to simply have a nice social event, Allelujah puts together a bonfire party at the beach. Stuff ensues.

He hadn't wanted to go, but the kid had already headed out by himself, and he didn't want to be the one doing laps past the Fay's closed door all night, so here he was, going to the damn bonfire just like he'd been told. Damn magician.
He avoided most of the large crowd, instead choosing to linger around the edges, only going towards the center for food.

Goddamn anime and similar names.

Tsukasa walked over to Kurogane, munching on a cookie. He was unsure of how to start the conversation, so he just sort of stood there, feeling awkward and not saying anything.

I'll start calling you Tsubasa next.

Kurogane nodded the kid's arrival. He wasn't a man of many words at the best of times, and in this kind of situation all he could manage was "Hey."

"Hey." Tsukasa didn't say anything for a few moments, just chewed thoughtfully on his cookie, and then sighed.

"At least it's nice out, right?"

*...mocks* *runs away*

"Yeah," he sat down, arms folded across his chest, watching the ocean as it tumbled against the sand. "Could be worse."

Tsukasa plopped down next to him, staring at the waves. "Yeah. It's... kind of peaceful. No monsters to fight, at least not at the moment, no one chasing after any of us... it's not bad."

Having been convinced by Watanuki to go to the bonfire, and being sure that Kurogane actually wasn't going despite his request, Fay walked cheerfully down to the beach. He really wasn't in the mood to be surrounded by people, but at least this way he was away from Kurogane.

... Except for the part where the ninja was already on the beach. Damnit.

Kurogane couldn't help but notice the blond head mingling in the crowds, his stomach plummeting when he did, but he tried his best to ignore it. If Fay wanted to go he should have said so from the start, but whatever-it wasn't like the blond wanted anything to do with him.

Fay could feel Kurogane watching him, or thought he could. It might just be paranoia. He turned and smiled in the ninja's direction. Just act normal, don't treat him any different than normal.

His first plan of action was to pretend not to see the magician, but when Fay smiled he couldn't help but glare in respond. Then he pretended no to see the blond.

And now I'm leaving!

Fay chuckled as he saw Kurogane glare at him and then pretend not to see him. Too cute. Automatically, he began walking over to the younger man, not even thinking about it, but then halted and stood awkwardly midway. This was just magnificent. He should have stayed home.

D: Don't go, Baby!

What was Fay doing? Didn't he remember they were-
...Were they even fighting?
He stared at the blond for a few moments, until it was apparent that he wasn't going anywhere, not quite knowing what to think. He stayed where he was for a moment, indecisive, and then began to walk towards Fay.

Fay smiled tightly as Kurogane approached, knowing that running away now would do more harm than good. "Kurogane! I thought you weren't coming?"

So the blond wasn't running, well, that was a suprize. Suddenly he regretted ever approaching Fay, his smile was stretched across his face uncomfortably, so Kurogane chose to look at the food instead. "And you said you weren't." He hadn't expected to see the blond, but now that he was here...he couldn't say he wasn't glad to see him. Even if he was just pretending.

"Hmmm, Kimihiro-kun convinced me otherwise," Fay said, also moving to look at the food. Despite everything it was nice to be standing next to Kurogane again. He just wished they could ditch the awkwardness and go back to how they were before. Fay wondered what the ninja was thinking about and then began planning escape plans because this was just depressing.

"Hn," He wanted to go back and find somewhere to sit down, but if he left then he very much doubted that Fay would follow. But why should he care? Why was he even standing here now?
Fay had been the first person he really spoke to here, it was natural there would be some level of attachment but it was stupid to assume that...
He crossed his arms and let out a low breath, "Are you going to get something to eat or what?"
