Wearing black, form fitting trunks and an open blue and white hawaiian shirt, Michel lounged in a chair he had dragged over to the cooking pit. It was getting close to time to dig out the giant boar he and the others brought down the previous day, and all the work getting set up this morning had him hungry, and itching to dig the main course out as soon as it was ready.

Alto had managed to find some swimming trunks that fit him - thanks to Michel - and was going for a swim. Swimming was almost like flying, since he felt weightless and free.

But not quite.

So he dragged himself out of the water and wandered towards the cooking pit, dripping wet and hair hanging down.

Michel pulled a towel off the back of his seat and tossed it with pin-point accuracy straight at his old friend's face.

"So the princess has come to see how her coronation feast is progressing, I see."

Alto reached up and caught the towel, drying himself off a little, pausing to shoot a glare at Michel.

"I'm not a princess. How much longer does the food have to cook?"

"I'd say 5-10 minutes tops. Then we can dig it out and dig in."

Michel cast his gaze over one shoulder, meeting Alto's glare with his own perfect smile.

"Looking much less like an angry, wet cat now at least, Alto-hime~"

Alto just rolled his eyes and plopped down next to his friend.

"Wasn't there supposed to be music here? Or is that later?"

"I think that's later, once our musically inclined friends get done enjoying themselves. As many as we've got around though, it should make for some great evening entertainment."

As Michel spoke, he kept his eyes on the smoking mound of sand in front of him, mesmerized by the scent of what lay just beneath the surface.

Alto looked over at the cooking... thing. "What is that, anyway? You said it was a... boar or something? Aren't boars... smaller than that?"

"Yeah. Most are. This thing was bigger than those stage 3 Vajra, and about as tough."

Michel grinned, holding out his hand with index finger and thumb extended, and making a motion like a gun firing at the smoking mound.

"Just not tough enough."

"... Wow." Alto imagined that for a moment, and then shrugged. "Still sniping, I see."

He lay back in the sand and stared up at where the plate over the lower level was. "... Is it a real sky up there? Not just panels?"

Michel tipped his chair back onto two legs, eyes following Alto's to the plate above.

"Yeah. Not exactly the friendliest sky. but it's up there."

"I'll be glad when I get there. I don't like being down here." Alto closed his eyes, remembering flying through the sky of the Vajra home planet.

"This place isn't so bad, I guess, though."

"Yeah... There's a few nice spots down here... but the upper level's better. Just not by a whole lot."

With a small eruption of sand, Michel let his chair fall forward again, so he could examine the pit.

"You get used to it, at least."

Alto sighed, just watching Michel. He was glad that Michel seemed happy here. At least he knew his friend was all right.
