Summary: To celebrate the start of the summer and to simply have a nice social event, Allelujah puts together a bonfire party at the beach. Stuff ensues.

Toshiko had wandered down to the beach in a bathing suit, and was now puttering around, looking for things to do. She noticed the torches that Allelujah was setting up and grabbed another one, sticking it into the sand.

She stood back for a moment, and concentrated, passing her hand over the top of the torch. A green flame sprung up, burning brightly. She looked a little strained for a moment, and then smiled, turning to Allelujah.

"How's that?"

Allelujah nodded when she came by, grateful for the help. When she waved her hand over the torch and the green flame appeared, he raised an eyebrow, surprised. Granted, he should have expected it, though he didn't know the full extent of her powers. "Fancy. That should help a lot. How long does it last?" he asked.

Toshiko thought for a moment. "Hm. Well... I'm not entirely sure, since I don't usually show it off in front of people. But at least an hour. It doesn't take much energy, so as long as I don't lose all my... uh."

How to explain this. "... Well, basically my spiritual energy... it should be okay." She stretched and went to set up some more torches.

Tamamo intercepted Toshiko as she was about to light the next torch, and lit it in front of her with a flick of fingers. "Enjoying the night, señorita?"

Toshiko looked annoyed for a moment, and then forced herself to smile again. There was way too much risk in pissing him off too much.

"Of course. It's nice out, there's good food, nice people... what's not to like?"

How he got dragged into going to the beach was beyond him. Doumeki made note, to stay away from the main bulk of the party. Instead the boy took a seat upon the beach still clad in his school uniform.

At least it was peaceful off in the sand, the noise not yet bother some and the idiots not that annoying yet. Maybe they even had drinks down here...sake could make this tolerable.

Unfortunately, the peace could only last so long. Toshiko strolled up to him, grinning.

"'Meki~ I'm glad you decided to show up!" She grinned and crouched near him. "Maybe you might even smile tonight. ... But I'm not hoping for any miracles."

As if expected his tone didn't change from his usual deadpan monotone. "i doubt there will be any reason to smile." His head merely shifted to watch her. One vibrant and one duller eye merely started at her for a moment, before calmly asking, "...Are you always so happy and bothersome?"

"Aww, don't be like that." She pouted. "And... yeah, pretty much." Giggling, she ruffled his hair gently. "Cheer up, emo kid."

His hand reached up, before lowering not wanting to waste the engery on moving her hand. "Lovely." He softly scoffed, "I am not dissapointed, or upset."

"Yeah, but you keep pouting. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you make a funny face like that, it might stick?" She smoothed his hair down before removing her hand.

"I am not pouting." He calmly responded, "...Something like that."

At least his hair was fixed before he inwardly sighed, attemping to make the best of it. "...I'm going to find something to drink. You can come along if you want, Kitsune."

"I have a name, exorcist." Toshiko frowned for a moment, and then followed Doumeki. "You need to loosen up more, anyway. Pull the stick out of your ass once in a while~."

"...Of course you do Toshiko." He responded blankly. "Hm?" Taking the literal meaning, he stopped at the table with the drinks to snatch a glass of sake. It gave him a moment to think, as he downed most of the alcohol in his glass. "I am not that tense."

She rolled her eyes and waited for him to finish drinking before whacking him lightly on the back of his head. "I mean have fun. Have a good time."

He raised a hand lightly rubbing where she had wacked him. "...I'm not a fan of these types of things."
