It seemed that he had been going up to the Upper Level more frequently than usual, not that it was something he minded. Besides his meetings with Marina and now Saji and Louise, he had been shuttling in between the two levels to move some of his belongings up to the new house in preparation for the day on which the entire household would move up to the Upper Level. It appeared that this day would be the last day they were staying on the Lower Level, and from the next day onwards, he would be able to wake up and see the sky from his window.
That day, he had decided not to head up early, choosing to leave the house closer to the meeting time. Recalling once more the items he wanted to buy while on the Upper Level, he made his way up the steps, squinting slightly, his eyes adjusting to the bright sunlight as he emerged onto the Upper Level. The sunlight felt comfortingly warm on his skin. He looked around, wondering if the other two were already here, not knowing why both Saji and Louise had decided to invite him out.
