As far as he knew, there was only one reason why he'd agreed to this and that was Roxas having left him no choice. Sure, he could've let the blonde run off into the pits of danger alone, but he'd never forgive himself if something happened, and who was he kidding anyway? After what they'd just gone through, it was safe to say that Axel didn't want him out of his sight right now anyway. To hell with that. Though he had to admit, something was just really ... off. One could almost say he had a bad feeling, but apparently this wasn't the time to start cracking jokes.
He didn't quite get the sudden alarm that attacked his generically stoic friend- rather he did get it, and Axel was just displeased with the implications. Roxas shouldn't have been so worked up. And he followed him without question, but his purpose was absent where plenty of questions were. Was he really becoming more and more like Sora ? Why had he even bothered to call him out? Unless he was closer than even Xemnas had suspected. Either way, the whole situation just seemed bad. Even if Roxas had somehow avoided a merger before, that didn't mean it couldn't happen still, and Axel wasn't about to have him disappearing.
Roxas just didn't get it. Maybe he just didn't get it. But whatever the case was, he hoped they could simply get this over with, and to be honest, he was glad that no one answered when they arrived at the house. Hopefully Roxas didn't expect him to be concerned, because Axel couldn't even bother to pretend as he leaned against the wall near the door frame with both arms loosely folded over his chest.
Although, the Keyblade Roxas was carrying had drawn his eye before and he had to wonder where he had gotten it, because it looked an awful lot like something he would have given him. Exactly like something he'd been planning to give him before he left, actually.
He'd ask about it later. For now, he resigned himself to observe from the wall as Roxas became increasingly flustered.
"You sure about this?" he asked finally.
But then there was a voice from the inside … a familiar voice, and he pushed himself up from the wall. Who knew what was going to happen now.
